Hog Control

Why Call Us?

HogSWAT is a hog control company.  Our goal is simple. Kill every hog on the farms we service,or modify their behavior so they associate the area with danger to enable the farmer to harvest his crop without unacceptable loss's to hogs.To accomplish this we use a traditional work ethic with hi tech gear. Were in the field 5 days a week, 40-60 hours locating and killing hogs. Some times of the year we works weeks straight. This is a full time job, NOT a hobby or a sideline.

Properties with serious hog problems in SW Georgia tend to be located in, around or nearby the following: Rivers, small creeks and branch's, swamps, or hardwood bottoms. Hogs live and breed in the dense almost impenetrable swamps and hardwoods then step out of them to feed on farms, unchallenged at night. They use the creeks and rivers like roads, traveling miles to get to favorite feeding spots. They learn where to get unlimited amounts of food with no risk to their life.

A sounder of hogs is going to hit a field as often as several times in 24 hours to once every few weeks, mostly between dusk and dawn. When your dealing with several dozen different sounders, and random solo boars all on their own schedule, you quickly realize "part time" isn't going to cut it..  A property like this requires a "clean out", then regular pressure to keep transient hogs from settling down. A "clean out" requires HogSWAT to spend several nights a week for several weeks from dusk to dawn locating and shooting as many individual sounders per night we can. If we are able to locate, stalk and fire on a sounder without being detected, the surviving pigs (if any) will associate that particular field as "as really bad place to feed" and will avoid it. By modifying the behavior of the hogs we don't kill, we greatly decrease the overall hog traffic on these types of properties. With regular patrols, we can shoot newly detected hogs before they make your property their new home.

We hunt in all but the VERY wettest weather, we hunt full moon.  ANY day of the year we are needed, for landowners that give us year round acsess.

If you have too many sounders take up residence, your native game will get pushed out, and any crop you plant will be pounced on VERY quickly. Imagine watching a large peanut field, say 500 acres. Over the course of the night you may have a group or several groups come right at sundown, then groups at random intervals all the way to sunrise. If you watched all night, you might see in really bad cases, from 20 - 150+ hogs come and go from one field. Planting corn or peanuts with a hog problem like this will result in almost certain loss of those seeds. Even with thermal detection as soon as the hogs enter the field, they are going to destroy a certain percentage on your crop before being shot.

The best way to avoid major crop loss is to locate and kill as many hogs as possible in such a way that the hogs that survive don't wish to return, LONG BEFORE planting and harvest. This is HogSWAT's mission, this is what we do as a full time job all year long.

If we don't kill LESS hogs on your property year after year, were not doing our job.

Our Rates:  (landowners - farmers within 50 mile radius of Albany)

We don't charge landowners with serious hog problems. Instead we make our income from bringing a paid hunter with us. This enables us to offer year round hog control. We typically hunt five nights a week, whether we have customers or not. We encourage landowners and farmers that use our service to ride along with us when we don't have paid customers to see for themselves how we do, what we do. We really enjoy showing you first hand what kind of impact we have on deer and other native game on your land. You'll see your property like never before.

Landowners - farmers outside of our 50 mile range.

We evaluate these on a case by case basis. Please give us a call.

HogSWAT is insured by a liability policy for your protection and ours.
