2 Night Hog Hunts
Two night hog hunt produced a few hogs for these two guys. The first night started off with a Hog doing a “Houdini” and disappearing without a trace. The next field produced a coyote that was walking right towards them. Before it attacked, Jordan Meowed!!! at it to get it to stop, and it left with some wounds. Later in the first night a single boar was spotted next to the road of a field we have access to. The guys set up and did the count down, It was wounded, but Jordan wanted to get a photo so he sprinted across the field to make sure the hog was down to get the photo.
The second night a few coyotes were in a peanut field casually eating mice and causing ruckus. Some were scared off and some wounded but not photos were taken. Later a large sounder was spotted and a long stalk was made. Some deer blew from 200-300 yard and scared the entire sounder off the field. They waited 30 mins, but nothing ever appeared. A small group was spotted on a sod field which made for an easy stalk. 2 of the 4 were dropped and the night was finished with another successful hunt.
Many factors dictate a successful hunt. We are Wild Hog Hunting and doing spot and stalk so clothing, walking abilities, and good shot placements all become a factor. The best part of our hunts is the variety of scenarios that play out to make it a Real Hunt. Who would have guessed coyotes are afraid of Guides who Meow. Why would your world class guide “Meow” to stop a charging coyote? Or was the coyote charging? Did my guide just got excited? Book a hunt to find out more.
Stacking Hogs - Thermal Hog Hunting
John, Dwight, and Dakota were able to stack up some hogs for the first night of their weekend hog hunt. Guide Jordan went 5/5 on the first encounter for the night. Then had to play cat and mouse on some fields with hogs coming in and out of the corn to feed on peanuts. None were recovered as they all made into the tall corn. Third go round was on a field next the the road, they made a great stalk, but then the neighbors dogs started barking so shots were rushed. Finally they checked one last field to find a sounder destroying a corn field. They stack them up with what they could find in some knee high corn. We try to get as many encounter as possible and it’s a rinse and repeat process. Meaning we get a go round, pile them up, do photos, butcher and then go look for more. Rarely will will pile them up at the end of the hunt for a glory photo. We Hog Hunt vast areas due to crop rotation and hot spots. If you want to stack up some hogs book a hunt with us at HogSWAT.
3 NIGHTS OF HOG HUNTING
Spotted a large sounder on an adjacent field to one we Hunt. We knew they were headed our way to tear up a freshly planted field corn field. We waited patiently and after an hour or so they finally started to head over. Property lines and permission to hunt fields is a sacred thing. Harassing hogs on another farmers land is also not permitted. It sucks to do the right thing but the most over looked part about hunting is being patient. We know the hogs are coming out, we just don’t know when. Hogs are unpredictable except for one thing, they need to eat. Grateful to have this father and son duo Hog Hunting with us for the past 3 days. They stacked up 13 with hands on and probably more that made it to the woods.
First Time Night Hog Hunting
Chris and Preston were able to get 3 hogs on thier first ever Thermal Hog Hunt out of Americus, Georgia. Guide Noah was able to get them on a sounder of hogs to start the night, 3 were taken out of the group. Then a 2nd sounder was spotted with shots off and another 3 hogs taken down. Great work
