Stuck In The Mud - Second Night - Please Read

Photo: Google Reviews @HogSWAT

Photo: Customer Service @HogSWAT

We hunt year-round in all types of weather to give our customers the best effort possible on every hunt. On the first night, Guide Jordan Started hunting at 8 PM until 6 AM and the group had a very successful night, piling up hogs.

On the second night, Jordan checked a few fields before unfortunately sliding into a ditch on Buck Nelson Road. While accidents happen in this line of work, we always strive to do right by our customers. We understand the time, money, and travel expenses that go into coming to Southwest Georgia to hunt with us, and we value that greatly.

Each of our vehicles is equipped with AWD or 4WD, traction pads, and recovery tools. Unfortunately, Jordan was unable to locate his shovel, which made getting unstuck more difficult. Our internal policy is to attempt recovery ourselves for at least an hour before calling a tow service. On this particular night, we did not have additional guides or support assets available, so Jordan contacted Peacock Towing, a local company that has reliably assisted us many times over the years in our rural area. To clarify, the road where the vehicle became stuck was a county-maintained road, not a private farm road.

The vehicle was recovered around 12:30 AM. Afterward, the group decided to end the hunt, feeling that too much of the night had been lost. The following morning, after speaking with Jordan and getting a full understanding of the situation, I reached out to the customer and offered a complimentary night of hunting for the affected hunters. Shortly after, I received a Google review describing the experience negatively, followed by phone calls in which legal action was mentioned.

I have always tried to treat customers fairly and stand behind my guides and our business. I have never rescinded an offer made to a customer, and we work hard to make things right when situations outside anyone’s control happen. However, moving forward, my team and I will have to figure out this groups intentions moving forward.

We are always open to honest feedback and understand that not every hunt will go perfectly. HogSWAT has been operating since 2008 and have built our reputation on hard work, honesty, and fairness. We have both positive and negative reviews, and we continue to learn and improve from every experience.

At the end of the day, people book hunts to create memories with family and friends, and we genuinely value being part of those moments. Communication is important to us, which is why we provide detailed information on our website along with clear booking and cancellation policies.

We appreciate all of our customers who continue to support our small business, and we will continue working hard to provide the best hunting experience possible.

Stacking Hogs - Thermal Hog Hunting

Photo: Stacking Hogs - Thermal Hog Hunting @HogSWAT

Photo: Wild Hog Hunting Georgia @HogSWAT

John, Dwight, and Dakota were able to stack up some hogs for the first night of their weekend hog hunt. Guide Jordan went 5/5 on the first encounter for the night. Then had to play cat and mouse on some fields with hogs coming in and out of the corn to feed on peanuts. None were recovered as they all made into the tall corn. Third go round was on a field next the the road, they made a great stalk, but then the neighbors dogs started barking so shots were rushed. Finally they checked one last field to find a sounder destroying a corn field. They stack them up with what they could find in some knee high corn. We try to get as many encounter as possible and it’s a rinse and repeat process. Meaning we get a go round, pile them up, do photos, butcher and then go look for more. Rarely will will pile them up at the end of the hunt for a glory photo. We Hog Hunt vast areas due to crop rotation and hot spots. If you want to stack up some hogs book a hunt with us at HogSWAT.

Update to Booking Policy

Effective today, we are updating our Booking, Cancellation, and Equipment Policies.

We will no longer be offering freezer service for our hunts. Our goal has always been to provide the best experience possible for our hunters, and unfortunately freezer service has recently created issues with meat pickup times and equipment reliability, including freezers not properly freezing meat.

Because your meat is important to you, we want to ensure it is properly cared for by having it packed directly into your coolers for transport home.

Equipment malfunction has always been addressed within our booking policy. We work hard to properly maintain all equipment and provide the best experience possible while removing anything that could create a negative experience for our customers.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support.

Family Fun Hog Hunting

Photo: Georgia Hog Hunting @HogSWAT

First Night of Hog Hunting started off getting on a sounder in some Wheat. Were able to put quite a few down but it was impossible to gather them all up in the tall wheat. Jordan was able to put hands on 3 without spending more time trying to recover all of them. Found another sounder on a field just outside of Americus, GA and tried to get super close. Jordan was able to use the tree line to get within 50 yards to ensure the best opportunity. Double digits of hogs down has eluded him this season, but he gets the most opportunities of any guide. After the smoke settled and the screams stopped only 2 hogs were down in the field. He was heart broken, but happy to help the farmers.

I tell Jordan I make it look easy. Jordan, sometimes you don’t always get what you want. Jordan sometime customers don’t really want to take that much meat home. Jordan, you need to get closer. Jordan, use a bigger caliber. Jordan, have them aim. Jordan I need to stop typing this, but I am having too much fun.

Spot and Stalk Hog Hunting

Photo: Wild Hog Hunting At Night @HogSWAT

Photo: Pig Pile @HogSWAT

Photo: Wild Hog Hunts @HogSWAT

Started the night fast, finding the first sounder of wild hogs and putting 4 down after they got spooked. We spent the rest of the night checking fields, spotting plenty of deer movement, but the hog activity suddenly turned into a ghost town.

Guide Noah stayed persistent and finally located another sounder of feral hogs feeding in a muddy field. After a long, slow stalk through the dark, one of the hunters accidentally slammed his thermal optic while setting up, spooking the group. Even with the busted opportunity, the hunters managed to drop one big sow hog before the rest disappeared into the night.

Not every Georgai hog hunt goes perfectly, but nights like this are what make predator and hog hunting unforgettable — spot and stalk action, thermal hunting, muddy fields, close encounters, and hard-earned success on invasive wild pigs.

Guide Jordan was able to get them on a sounder early dropping 3 to start the night. Later in the night a scout called them in on a single wild hog and they dropped it with ease. Later a failed stalk happened and the sounder spooked. Hunting at night has its challenges limited viability, fatigue, muddy walking condition, and most of all the thrill. We love guiding hunts and helping our farmers. Book a Hunt at www.HogSWAT.com

Guided Thermal Hog Hunting

Night 2 was all about patience for this Thermal Hog Hunt. We tracked a sounder and watched their feeding patterns, letting them work within 30 yards before opening chances. This strategy was a massive success, securing three hogs in one engagement.

The night ended with a high-intensity encounter. After stalking a single boar, the animal showed its legendary toughness by attempting to retreat. Guide Jordan had to track it down on foot, leading to a close-range confrontation where the boar turned to fight. Jordan safely finished the harvest, bringing the trip total to 8 hogs.

This 2-night adventure proved that Wild Boar Hunting in Georgia is unpredictable and thrilling until the very last chance!

Guided Hog Hunts In Georgia

Photo: Guided Hog Hunts In Georgia @HogSWAT

We kicked off Night 1 with precision, securing three single boars through a series of stealthy stalks. Using our AGM Thermal gear, we managed to drop one pig just 70 yards from a massive sounder without alerting the rest of the group—a perfect example of the stealth required for Nighttime Hog Hunting.

The night peaked with a high-stakes stalk on a sounder of 20+ pigs. We successfully maneuvered within 80 yards, and while the team secured another harvest as the group scrambled, we know the potential was there for even more. That’s the thrill of Wild Boar Hunting—even with a perfect approach, the chaos of a large sounder keeps you on your toes.

We ended the first half of this 2 Night Thermal Hog Hunt with 4 pigs down and are ready to get back at it for Night 2!

Thermal Hog Hunting

Photo: Thermal Hog Hunting @HogSWAT

We just wrapped up an incredible 2 Night Thermal Hog Hunt here in Americus GA. After a solid first night, the team headed back out to face some challenging conditions. While the evening started slow with heavy fog rolling into the fields, our thermal gear allowed us to cut through and find where the Wild Boars were hiding.

The highlight of this night of Wild Hog Hunting was an intense engagement at one of our southern properties where the team successfully secured 6 pigs in a single go-around. The action was fast-paced, with the group working together to manage the harvest while scouting for the rest of the sounder. Later in the night, a great tip led us to another group of pigs where we added 2 more to the tally, bringing our Night 2 total to 8.

Combined with the 6 hogs from the previous session, this group finished their trip with a total of 14 Wild Hogs harvested! We are extremely grateful we got to take these guys out for the full experience. It was a pleasure having them on the Guided Hog Hunt, and we hope they had a blast with the Best Hog Hunting outfit in Georgia.
