Thermal Hog Hunting Video
At Hog SWAT, we are always looking for ways to improve the experience for our hunters. Recently, our guide Jordan started editing some of our Thermal Hog Hunting Videos from past hunts. While the videos are great for our business, they also serve another important purpose — helping our guides get even better at what they do.
Just like football players watch film to study their performance, watching hunt footage allows our guides to see exactly what happened during a hunt from start to finish from the hunters eyes.
When you review video from a Night Hog Hunt in Georgia, you notice things you might not catch in the moment.
For example:
How quickly the hogs reacted
Remembering where a sounder entered the field
Chance placement on thermal from the hunters
How the guide positioned the group
Watching these moments on video helps guides analyze and improve hog future hunts.
Learning From Thermal Hog Hunting Footage
During a Thermal Hog Hunt, things happen fast.
Hogs can appear suddenly in a field, and once the chances starts the entire sounder can scatter in seconds. By reviewing thermal agm footage, guides can slow the moment down and study what happened. Improving future hunts for the next hunter that joins the hog swat team for a night.
Jordan editing this footage gives him the chance to:
Study hog behavior on thermal
Improve chance placement guidance
Learn how hunters react during high-adrenaline moments
Identify the best way to position hunters during a stalk
Understand what the hunter sees through their thermal gear
This kind of review helps make future hunts smoother, safer, and more successful.
Seeing the Hunt From the Hunter’s Perspective
Another big benefit of editing our Hog Hunting Videos is that it allows guides to see the Themral Hog Hunt from the hunter’s point of view.
Guides are often focused on:
Locating hogs
Managing the group
Making sure everyone is safe
Coordinating chances
But when they watch the footage later, they can see exactly what the hunter saw through their Thermal.
This helps guides better understand the customer experience during a Night Hog Hunt, which allows them to guide even better on the next hunting trip.
Why Video Is Such a Valuable Tool for Hog Hunting
The footage is also a powerful tool for improvement.
Just like athletes studying film, watching hunting footage helps guides:
Improve strategy
Understand hog movement patterns
Refine how they guide hunters in the field
Learn how hogs react to pressure
Over time, this leads to better hunts, more hogs, and an even better experience for our clients.

Georgia Hog Hunting
There is something special about Georgia Night Hog Hunting just after a fresh rain. Guide Max led a recent session where the damp air and bright moonlight created the perfect atmosphere for an elite Wild Hog Hunting experience. While the movement started off slow, the team’s persistence paid off as they located a group of three hogs and successfully secured a recovery.
At Hog SWAT, we know that for many of our guests, the Best Hog Hunting experience doesn't end in the field. This group is walking away with more than just a great story; we are processing their harvest into premium Cheddar Jalapeño and Maple links. Along with the custom sausage, they’ve requested a professional Euro mount to commemorate their Hog Hunting success.
Whether you are here for the high-octane action of Thermal Hog Hunts or you’re looking to stock your freezer with the best organic meat, we take pride in every step of the process. It’s always 'fun shooting stuff,' but it’s even better when that Guided Hog Hunting trip results in a trophy on the wall and a feast on the table
Thermal Hog Hunting
Night two of this 2-Night Thermal Hog Hunt in South Georgia continued with steady movement and additional opportunities.
A sounder was located early in the night, leading to another productive setup. One hog was successfully recovered, while additional movement confirmed continued activity across the area.
As the night went on, another group of Wild Hogs was located, producing one more successful recovery before activity slowed.
Combined with night one, the 2-Night Thermal Hunt delivered consistent action, multiple recoveries, and solid opportunities across South Georgia farmland — a strong example of what Guided Hog Hunting with Hog SWAT is designed to provide.
Guided Hog Hunts
Night one of this 2-Night Hog Hunt in South Georgia started with immediate activity.
Wild Hogs were located early in the evening, creating quick opportunities that required fast decision-making. While initial movement shifted before a setup could be completed, continued scanning paid off later in the night.
A Sounder was located in open ground, allowing the group to get positioned and capitalize on the opportunity. The setup resulted in two hogs successfully recovered, setting a strong tone for the rest of the Hog Hunt.
Night one demonstrated exactly what Guided Thermal Hog Hunting is about — covering ground, staying mobile, and making the most of opportunities when hogs present themselves.
Hog Hunting
Not every Hog Hunt happens on a calm, clear night — and that’s part of what makes Hog Control effective.
This 1-Night Hog Hunt in Georgia began under heavy rain, forcing constant adjustments from the very start. Wet ground, reduced visibility, and shifting movement patterns meant every decision had to be made carefully and deliberately.
Early in the night, Wild Hogs were located near open ground alongside deer. Initial chances connected, but the presence of deer moving into the area required the team to pause rather than push the situation — a reminder that Hog Hunting at Night means knowing when not to continue.
As the night progressed, continued scanning revealed additional hog movement near tree lines and field edges. What started as a stalk on individual animals quickly turned into an opportunity on a nearby sounder. Adjusting plans on the fly, the group closed distance and executed a controlled setup despite rain and wind.
One hog was successfully recovered after covering significant ground, demonstrating how persistence and tracking matter just as much as the initial opportunity.
The remainder of the night was spent checking additional areas as weather slowly improved. While activity tapered off, the Hunt reflected exactly what Thermal Hog Hunting in Georgia looks like— adapting to conditions, making smart calls, and staying disciplined when the situation demands it.
Georgia Hog Hunting
Thermal Hog Hunting in South Georgia delivers a different challenge every night, and this Hog Hunt with Guide Clayton was the perfect example of how fast conditions can shift in the fields.
The night began with a Sounder of about Six Hogs, a promising start. But as the team moved into position, the wind turned unexpectedly — one of the biggest factors in Hog Hunting. Wild Hogs rely heavily on scent, and the moment the breeze changed direction, the sounder slipped into the treeline.
All except one.
A Lone Hog stayed out just long enough for Clayton to guide the hunters into a close, clean setup. At roughly 30 yards, the opportunity came together perfectly, and the team made a solid recovery.
After that, the challenge changed from wind… to weather.
A thick, rolling fog settled across the farmland — the kind that makes thermal signatures blur and limits visibility across entire fields. Clayton repositioned multiple times trying to break out of it, but the fog followed all night long. Even with constant scanning and field rotations, no other hogs appeared for the rest of the Wild Hog Hunt.
To top it off, the ground was soft from recent moisture, and at one point Clayton got the van stuck — but in true guide fashion, a little technique and determination got everything moving again.
Nights like this show exactly what True Thermal Hog Hunting is:
Real fields, real conditions, and real adaptability. Some nights are nonstop action, and others are all about patience, smart decisions, and making the most of the few opportunities that appear.
Even with heavy fog and unpredictable wind, the Boar Hunt ended with one solid recovery and a story only a South Georgia night can give you.

Two Nights in the Field:
A Hog Hunt with Zev
Hunting Wild Hogs at night is about patience, awareness, and learning how to move through the dark without giving yourself away. Guide Zev recently took a group of 3 Hunters out for a 2 Night Thermal Hog Hunt, and while the first night tested their persistence, the second night proved to be a lesson in both skill and success.
Night 1:
Tough Luck and Coyotes
The first night out, the Hogs were nowhere to be found. That’s the reality of Hog Hunting—some nights they’re out in force, and other nights they vanish like ghosts. To break up the slow night, we tried to set up on two separate Coyotes. But let’s just say… things didn’t go as planned. Between movement, positioning, and the learning curve of Night Hunting, things happen not how we planned.
Night 2:
Pigs Down and Lessons Learned
With the frustration of night one behind them, the guys came back determined. It paid off early when we saw a Lone Pig, and success. But the real action came later in the night when we spotted a Sounder. This time, we moved better, stalked quieter, and moved without getting caught by Wild Hogs. When the moment came, they connected—one Pig Down from the group.
We did lots of walking. Moving through open fields during night isn’t the same as walking through the fields during the day. Every step has to be intentional, every movement controlled. By night two, they had it figured out.
In the end, two Wild Pigs took a nap, and these Hog Hunters walked away with more than just harvest—they left with a deeper understanding of the Thermal Hunt. And next time, those Coyotes might not be so lucky.

Hog SWAT's Two-Night Hunt Experience
At Hog SWAT, we pride ourselves on delivering Memorable Hunting Experiences, and our recent 2 Night Hog Hunt was no exception. With Guide Zev leading the charge on the first night and Guide Hank taking the helm on the second, our Hunters embarked on an Unpredictable Hunting adventure filled with challenges, excitement, and ultimately, success.
Night One:
The Calm Before the Hunt
The first night started with high hopes, as our Hog Hunters anticipated spots filled with Wild Hogs. However, despite their enthusiasm and readiness, it just wasn’t the night for success. Under Guide Zev's expertise, the team didn’t encounter any, but the Pigs proved elusive, leaving the group without any Harvested Game.
While it can be disappointing to leave a Hog Hunt without any Wild Pigs down, every adventure in the field offers invaluable lessons and build camaraderie. That is the name of the game when it comes to Wild Hog Hunting. Hunting these animals in the wild is unpredictable so some nights you might see 100 sometimes it’s none.
Night Two:
A Perfect Setup for Success!
As the sun set, it was Guide Hank’s turn to lead the Hunting Expedition. What an adventure it turned out to be! Just as they arrived in the field, some Wild Pigs were spotted right next to the van. Without skipping a beat, Hank made a snap decision to pursue the Hogs freehand, knowing that setting up the sticks would only send them fleeing.
“The urgency of the moment allowed us to stay in the game,” Hank later explained. With quick reflexes, the Hog Hunters landed them, but they unfortunately didn’t manage to get any photos…
After spending three solid hours searching for a solid target, they finally spotted a Lone Hog—one so starved that it seemed oblivious to the hunters' presence. Patience and stealth paid off, and the group was able to secure it, marking a successful conclusion to the night.

A Birthday To Remember
Hog SWAT is thrilled to share the exciting story of Guide Hank's recent Guided Hog Hunt, where he led a group of enthusiastic Hunters on an Unforgettable Hunting Adventure. As they celebrated a special birthday, the group was treated to a Thrilling Night of Hunting, with Guide Hank at the helm.
The night started off a bit slow, but Guide Hank's determination and expertise didn't waver. He remained focused on his mission until the early hours of the morning, driven by his motto: "I don't stop until it's daylight or I have Pigs." And, as fate would have it, his persistence paid off around 4am.
The group stumbled upon a Group of Hogs, and the Hunt was on! With precision and skill, they managed to take down two Wild Hogs, and then things got even more exciting. As they returned to their fallen mother, Guide Hank spotted two more Wild Hogs making their way back to claim their dead kin. The bonus round was on, and the group took down two more hogs, capping off an incredible night of Hunting.
The night was a resounding success, with Guide Hank's expertise and guidance leading the group to a truly unforgettable experience. It's no wonder that Hog SWAT is known for its exceptional Hunting Experiences – and this birthday celebration was just the icing on the cake!
