At Hog SWAT, we believe a great guide is always learning. To ensure our clients always receive the best Hog Hunting Georgia experience, veteran guide Jordan took our newest team member, Noah, out for a tactical training session. The goal was simple: master the terrain, study the wind, and execute high-pressure sounder recoveries.

The night began with a lesson in persistence. After a wary single managed to evade the team by using the shifting winds, Jordan and Noah pivoted to the Chokee property. Here, they located a large sounder and turned the encounter into a tactical classroom. After discussing several approach options, they executed Noah’s plan: a disciplined flank through the timber to mask their scent and silhouette.

The strategy worked perfectly. By hugging the tree line, they closed the distance to just 70 yards. The result? Five successful recoveries from a single sounder. The training didn't stop in the field, either. Noah put in the work on the processing table, demonstrating the 'field-to-table' skills we value at Hog SWAT. This commitment to training ensures that when you book a Wild Boar Hunting trip with us, you are being led by the most prepared guides in the industry.

Boars or Boats?

We always tell our guests that Hog Hunting Georgia is an adventure, but guide Jordan took that a little too literally this week. Everyone knows Jordan isn't much of a boat guy, but apparently, he needed a reminder that our scouting vans don't exactly come with a hull and a propeller.

While out on a high-stakes Thermal Hog Hunting mission, Jordan found a patch of Georgia 'marsh' that was a little deeper than it looked. We’re not sure if he was trying to turn a Night Hog Hunting trip into a deep-sea expedition, but the van decided it was much happier being a submarine than a transport vehicle.

Luckily, the only thing that got hurt was Jordan’s pride (and maybe his boots). While he may not understand that vans don't float, he definitely knows how to find the pigs. We’ve told him that from now on, we’re keeping the Wild Boar Hunting on solid ground. If you’re looking for a guide who is willing to go to the depths—literally—to find your sounder, Jordan is your man. Just maybe bring some waterproof waders just in case!

Thermal Hog Hunts

Night two of our Hog Hunting Georgia expedition proved that in the world of Wild Boar Hunting, you have to be ready for anything—technical or otherwise. We started the evening at our newest property, utilizing Thermal for Hog Hunting to track a large sounder moving through a low spot near a local pond.

Professionalism is key in Night Hog Hunting, so we exercised extreme patience, waiting for the sounder to clear a group of nearby deer before engaging. Despite an initial equipment hurdle, the team stayed focused. When a second sounder entered the field exactly where the first had been, we seized the opportunity. With all three shooters synchronized, we secured a triple recovery in a high-action encounter that pushed our equipment to the limit.

The night wasn't without its technical challenges. Between re-mounting a silencer and performing a field-reset on a thermal unit, our guides proved they are just as much technicians as they are hunters. At Hog SWAT, we ensure the gear stays running so the Hog Hunting experience never stops. Though the group decided to head in early after a long night of tactical maneuvers and field dressing, it was another successful chapter in our South Georgia management efforts.

Hog Hunting In Georgia

Photo: Hunting Wild Hogs @HogSWAT

When you step into the world of Boar Hunting in Georgia, you quickly learn how unpredictable the environment can be. Our latest outing highlighted the tactical nature of Night Hog Hunting and the importance of professional scouting.

Throughout the evening, we located multiple single targets and small groups of Wild Hogs across various South Georgia fields. These setups required quick decision-making and steady positioning as the hogs continued to shift. In professional Hog Hunting, being able to adapt to these changing conditions in real-time is what leads to a successful harvest.

As the night progressed, our persistence with the Thermal Hunting gear paid off. We located a sounder, allowing Hog SWAT guide Zev to position the group for a solid tactical setup. The precision of our equipment ensured that the encounter resulted in two Wild Hogs successfully recovered.

While not every opportunity ends in a recovery, every moment in the field is an opportunity to master Thermal Hog Hunting equipment and real-time decision-making. At Hog SWAT, our Multi-Night Hog Hunts are designed to build your confidence and expertise, ensuring you have the ultimate Boar Hunting experience in the heart of Georgia.

Hog Hunt - Night 2

Georgia Hog Hunting

Photo: Hog Hunting - Night 2 @HogSWAT

Night 2 of this 2-Night Hog Hunt in Georgia started with early opportunity.

Not long after getting into the fields, a single hog was located and the setup came together quickly. The group capitalized on the moment, resulting in a successful recovery early in the night.

After that, the night slowed down considerably. Hog movement dropped off, and the remaining hours passed quietly as conditions stayed calm and activity stayed minimal.

While Night 2 didn’t bring the same pace as the first night, it still delivered a solid early encounter and wrapped up a two-night Thermal Hunt that showed both sides of Thermal Hog Hunting — fast action one night, a slower, quieter finish the next.

That’s Hunting in South Georgia:
sometimes the night runs long,
sometimes it wraps up early,
and sometimes both happen on the same Hog Hunt.

Another honest Two-Night Wild Hog Hunt in the books with Hog SWAT.

Hog SWAT

Are you ready for an exhilarating night of wild hog hunting in South Georgia? Hog SWAT is your go-to resource for Guided Hunts that provide the thrill and excitement you’re looking for. Recently, we had an unforgettable evening with our expert Guide Hank, and a Solo Hunter, showcasing the best techniques for Hunting Elusive Wild Hogs under the stars.

Key Features of Night Wild Hog Hunting

  • Optimal Timing: Wild Hogs are most active at night, making Evening Hunts ideal for success. The cooler temperatures and reduced human activity offer a prime opportunity for Hunters.

  • Stealth Equipment: This Hunter brought is own ammo which was Subsonic ammunition this can be a game changer depending on what kind of shot you are. These quiet rounds help hunters maintain stealth, allowing them to take down Wild Hogs without alarming the entire Sounder. Our recent Hunt featured a Solo Hunter, he ended up bringing his own equipment for the hunt with a reliable rifle, suppressor, and thermal optics for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions.

  • Wild Hog Behavior: Understanding the behavior of Wild Pigs is critical. During last night's Hunt, the team spotted a Sounder rummaging through peanuts, an easy food source for the Pigs. By Scouting the right locations, we positioned ourselves for optimal shooting distance.

  • Tactical Approaches: Our hunts focus on a strategic approach. After the first shot was fired, the Hogs scattered but surprisingly returned within 50 yards. This predictable behavior allowed the solo hunter to reposition and take advantage of the situation, resulting in an impressive second shot.

Benefits of Guided Hunts with Hog SWAT

  • Expert Guidance: With years of experience, Guide Hank will do everything he can to maximize your chances of success. During last night’s hunt, his insights and instructions were crucial to the solo hunter's achievements, ensuring a Memorable Hunting Experience.

  • High Success Rate: Our Guided Hog Hunts have a high success rate for Harvesting Wild Hogs. It all depends on how well of a shot you are. So many factors come into play when it comes to Hunting Wild Hogs. If you see a Sounder of 20 Pigs, then taking shots at 20 pigs running in all directions is very hard. Hunters Realize how percise you have to be to take down Wild Boars with such thick skin and running at 20-30 mph. Last night's outing was no exception; the solo hunter successfully took two Pigs in one night, showcasing the effectiveness of our methods.

  • All Gear Provided: While some hunters come equipped, we ensure that all essential gear is provided to you to enhance your Hunting Experience, including rifles, Thermal scopes, and additional accessories.

Hog SWAT's Nighttime Hunt: A Test of Persistence

Guide Hank led a Thrilling 1 Night Hog Hunt for Hog SWAT, but it wasn't without its challenges. Despite the obstacles, Guide Hank's expertise and determination ultimately paid off.

The Hunt began with a promising Sighting of Pigs in a field just off the main road, but just as they were getting into position, a side-by-side came barreling down the road, making a ruckus and sending the Wild Pigs Scattering. Undeterred, Guide Hank regrouped his team and pressed on.

Later in the night, a thick fog rolled in, making it difficult to spot any more Hogs. But Guide Hank's experience and knowledge of the terrain eventually led him to a new group of Wild Hogs. However, they were stuck behind a pivot, limiting their shooting options to just one shot.

With precision and skill, the Hunters took aim and fired true, bringing down one impressive hog. Despite the setbacks and challenges, Guide Hank's persistence and expertise ultimately secured a Successful Hunt. As he reflected on the night's events, Guide Hank concluded: "It was a great success!"

Late Night Hog Hunts

Last night, Guide Capt Ben led a 1 Night Hog Hunt for the Hog SWAT team that was filled with unexpected twists and turns. As they set out into the rugged terrain, the team found themselves driving around in circles, trying to track down the elusive wild hogs. The frustration was mounting as they seemed to be going in circles and coming up empty-handed.

But just when it seemed like luck was not on their side, the Pig Gods must have taken pity on them. Suddenly, a Group of Pigs popped out from the bushes, catching the team by surprise. With adrenaline pumping, they quickly got into position and took their shots. Despite the initial struggles, the team managed to drop 4 out of the 10 Hogs they shot at, a decent success rate for the night.

Guide Capt Ben's expertise and determination had paid off once again, leading the team to a Successful Hunt despite the initial setbacks. It was a night filled with excitement, challenges, and ultimately, triumph. The Hog SWAT team had proven once again that with perseverance and a bit of luck, they could overcome any obstacle in their path.

Hunting Wild Hogs

Last night, Guide Capt Ben led a 1 Night Hog Hunt for Hog SWAT. The team was eager to Take Down Some Wild Hogs, and Ben was determined to deliver a Successful Hunt. As they ventured out into the darkness of the night, the anticipation and excitement were palpable.

After some Tracking and Scouting, they finally came across a Massive Sounder of over 25 Pigs. The team quickly got into position and took their shots, managing to take down one of the Large Boars. It was a Thrilling Hunt, with the team celebrating their victory.

But the excitement didn't stop there. As they were making their way back to base camp, they came across an unsuspecting Armadillo. With a round of cheers and laughter, the team decided to have some fun and explode the armadillo, adding an unexpected twist to an already eventful night.

Overall, it was a night to remember for the Hog SWAT Team, filled with Adrenaline-Pumping Hunting Action and camaraderie. Guide Capt Ben had once again proven his expertise and skill, leading the team to a Successful Hunting Trip under the starlit sky.

Hunting Wild Hogs Can Be A Challenge

Photo: Hog SWAT @HogSWAT

Guide Hank took some customers on a 2 Night Hog Hunt that he led for HogSWAT, highlighting the challenges and successes of the experience in the field.

Night 1 brought an unexpected encounter with a group of Small Piglets in the middle of the field, illuminated by the moon. Despite the opportunity for a shot at a Larger Hog, the nervous behavior of an Older Hog prevented them from taking the shot from a distance of 350 yards. Determined to make it count, Guide Hank planned to try again on the following night.

Night 2 proved to be more successful as they managed to take shots at Pigs twice during the Hunt. Although no pictures were taken, the feedback from the Hunters was positive, expressing their enjoyment and interest in returning for future Hunts. Guide Hank's determination and perseverance paid off, leading to a rewarding Hunting Experience for all involved.

2 PIG PILES 1 NIGHT

Photo: Hog Galore @HogSWAT

Photo: 2nd Pig Pile!! @HogSWAT

Guide Hank had some lethal company tonight. The first field they pulled into had Pigs and heavy rain. They shot and killed 6 Wild Pigs, with some on the run. Hank thought what they did was pretty awesome, so they decided to do it again. The second field they entered had a Sounder at the tree line. Approaching the Hogs with perfect wind, the group showed Hank that 6 wasn't just a fluke because they did it again, killing 6 more for a total of 12 Wild Hogs! These guys know how to have a good time and shoot with accuracy.

They checked several more fields to try and add to the number, but Guide Hank thinks the Hogs could sense these guys were nearby and made sure to stay clear of the Lethal Shooters. It was a great night of Hunting with these guys.

Freaking Hog Snipers!

The first field held a couple of nice-sized Boars. The Stalk was muddy and wet, but fortunately, the rain had given way. They closed to about 60 yards when we set up and fired a volley. Nailed ‘em! That was the easy part. Afterward, they dragged our pigs about 400 yards through the mud until they could finally hitch them to the Hog Van and get them to the Hog dump. Then proceeded onto a few more fields and didn’t find much luck. Eventually, at a large peanut field, they found 6 Smaller Pigs; however, the wind switched up on them and they got spooked. They headed down the road a bit and immediately saw about 20 Wild Pigs in a Large Sounder. As they got close, it became apparent that there were more like 50+ Hogs in a Mega Sounder! These Pigs had no idea what was coming, and we fed them lead. After the dust settled, our Hunters got exactly what they wanted: 8 Suckling Pigs for a total of 10 downed throughout the night!

Hunting Wild Hogs

Photo: Shhhh, He’s Sleeping! @HogSWAT

Photo: Hogs Down @HogSWAT

They struggled to find Pigs the first 4 hours of the Hunt, checking multiple fields. They finally pulled into a field where they spotted 2 Hogs. They started walking towards the Wild Hogs and found a Sounder past a high spot. They were able to maneuver around the other Wild Pigs and get close enough to shoot at the group. The guys killed 3 pigs! On the way off the field there was another pig minding his own business so they dropped the bags of meat they just butchered, and walked right up to the Solo Pig and took it down with the cadence shot. They totaled 4 pigs for the night!

Photo: Best Boar Hunting In Georgia @HogSWAT

Guide Capt Ben recently took a group of Hunters on an exciting Hog Hunt at Hog SWAT. The night started off with a bit of deception, as they had a false ID because of the rain and the encounter was a Large Possum, which they decided to spare and let go. Moving on to another field, they spotted a promising Sounder of Hogs, but unfortunately, they managed to evade the Hunters. However, the group didn't lose hope and on their third attempt, luck finally smiled upon them. The same Sounder returned to a different field, and the Skilled Hunters wasted no time in taking them down. In total, they successfully took down four Wild Hogs, including an Huge Boar weighing over 300 pounds. If you're interested in a Thrilling Hunting Experience, you can book a Hunt with Hog S.W.A.T. and perhaps have the opportunity to bag a Massive 300-Pound Boar yourself.

Photo: They Regret Their Decision @HogSWAT

We had another amazing Thermal Hog Hunt last night at Hog SWAT! Guide Luke (Hank) took Keegan the Gangster Hog Slayer and he brought his custom .308. Keegan flipped the first Hog on the run (solo) and right after setting it up for pictures, 2 more Wild Pigs had a death wish and emerged from the trees. Keegan lined them up and nailed both of them with one shot. Crazy!! The Wild Hog in the back started to limp away and Keegan finished it off by blowing its brains out. That was a zombie pig (brown and black) 100%. It did not want to die. Even after butchering it the Pig was still twitching. Overall Great Hog Hunt with Keegan.
