When you head out for a 1 Night Hog Hunt with Hog SWAT, you never know exactly how the evening will unfold. Some nights are about the long-distance Spot And Stalk, and other nights, like this one led by Guide Noah, become an unforgettable lesson in teamwork and quick reflexes.

The hog Scouting Process in South GA

The night began with a focused search across several key properties. While the Wild Hogs were playing hard to get early on, the team stayed positive as they spotted plenty of local wildlife, including several deer moving through the fields. In Thermal Hog Hunting, seeing other wildlife active is often a great sign that the Wild Boars will be moving soon after.

After checking the Pivot and other fields, Noah located a single boar in the field. The team initiated a stalk and made a connection, though the clever boar managed to retreat into the thick Georgia woodline.

The Sounder Encounter

Thermal Hog Hunting

Photo: Thermal Hog Hunting @HogSWAT

The highlight of the night occurred at another field. Using Thermal, Noah located a large sounder. As the group moved in to engage, the situation became intense. With multiple Wild Hogs scattering in every direction and 1 gotten, the team had to manage a few equipment adjustments on the fly.

In a moment of pure adrenaline, a large hog began moving directly toward the group’s position. Demonstrating the expert training we provide all our staff, Noah acted instantly. He managed the close-range encounter from only 5 yards away, successfully securing the harvest and ensuring the safety of the entire group. It was a close moment that ended the night with a massive rush, proving why we are the Best Hog Hunting outfitter for those seeking a true adventure.

Inside Our Nightly Guide Training

This past hunt you see pictured wasn't with customers. Senior Guide Max and Jordan took new guide-in-training, Noah, out into the fields of South GA. This dedicated night was strictly for training, observation, and perfecting the specialized Spot And Stalk method that Hog SWAT is famous for.

We protect thousands of acres of local farmers' fields, and that mission requires the highest level of competence.

Hands On Hog Hunts

Photo: Hands On Hog Hunts @HogSWAT

The Best Hog Hunting In Georgia is about more than just whats on the ground; it’s about passing down the skills of a true woodsman. Guide Jordan led a recent Thermal Hog Hunting trip where the mission was as much about education as it was about the harvest. Under a moon that was 'bright as all hell,' the team utilized pivots and natural backdrops to stay hidden while tracking a large sounder.

The tactical patience paid off with a successful double recovery. In a great display of the Wild Hog Hunting lifestyle, the clients and their sons took the lead on the butchering process, spending over an hour learning how to properly handle a harvest in the field. This hands-on experience is a hallmark of our Georgia Guided Hog Hunting—we love seeing the next generation get involved!

The action continued, where a 100-yard stalk led to another clean drop. However, the bright moonlight proved to be a challenging teacher later in the night. Despite a perfect downwind approach on a group of five, the team learned a valuable lesson in Night Hog Hunting camouflage when high-visibility clothing gave away their position. It was a classic teachable moment that ended a Great Success of a night. We’ve got the gear swapped out and the lessons learned, and we are ready for an even bigger Night 2 of Georgia Boar Hunting!

Night one of this 2-Night Thermal Hog Hunt in South Georgia brought challenging conditions, but solid results.

Cold temperatures and wet weather made for a tough night in the field, especially early on. Despite the less-than-ideal conditions, the group stayed committed and continued covering ground in search of hog movement.

That persistence paid off when a sounder was located, leading to a productive setup and four successful hog recoveries. The encounter turned the night around and highlighted how quickly conditions can change during a Thermal Hog Hunt.

Even on nights where weather and comfort aren’t on your side, teamwork and patience can still produce strong outcomes. Night one wrapped up as a successful start to the Hog Hunt, setting a positive tone heading into the second night.

Hog Hunt - Night 2

Georgia Hog Hunting

Photo: Hog Hunting - Night 2 @HogSWAT

Night 2 of this 2-Night Hog Hunt in Georgia started with early opportunity.

Not long after getting into the fields, a single hog was located and the setup came together quickly. The group capitalized on the moment, resulting in a successful recovery early in the night.

After that, the night slowed down considerably. Hog movement dropped off, and the remaining hours passed quietly as conditions stayed calm and activity stayed minimal.

While Night 2 didn’t bring the same pace as the first night, it still delivered a solid early encounter and wrapped up a two-night Thermal Hunt that showed both sides of Thermal Hog Hunting — fast action one night, a slower, quieter finish the next.

That’s Hunting in South Georgia:
sometimes the night runs long,
sometimes it wraps up early,
and sometimes both happen on the same Hog Hunt.

Another honest Two-Night Wild Hog Hunt in the books with Hog SWAT.

Night one of this 2-Night Thermal Hog Hunt with Hog SWAT kicked off with some solid success under the stars.

Guide Zev led his hunter out east to Larry Cooper Road, where the team spotted a Sounder of Wild Hogs moving through the fields. With expert setup and precision Hunting, he managed to get two pigs before the rest of the group disappeared into the trees — a strong start to this South Georgia Hunt.

Best Hog Hunting

Photo: It’s Time To Drag And Drop @HogSWAT

The first night of this 2 Night Thermal Hog Hunt with Guide Hank in Americus, Georgia was a success from start to finish. The hunters were determined to get some Wild Hogs in South Georgia — and they did just that.

The night started with a single hog sighting out in the distance. As the hunters geared up and lined up their chance, the pig slipped back into the treeline — a classic move for these smart, nocturnal animals. But the Hog Hunt was far from over.

After covering a few more fields, the crew spotted a sounder of pigs right near the entrance of a field. Moving quickly, they grabbed the thermals, geared up, and got set just in time. Within seconds, both hunters made clean attempts, getting two hogs before the rest of the group scattered.

It was another great night of Boar Hunting in Georgia, with calm winds, good visibility, and a team that worked together perfectly. Two hunters, two hogs — great success.

Best Thermal Hunting

Photo: Pack The Hunting Gear And Lets Go @HogSWAT

Guide Zev recently led a one-night Thermal Hog Hunt for Hog SWAT, and it turned into one of those short, sweet, and memorable nights in the field. The group spent the first part of the night scanning plenty of deer through the thermal, waiting for the right opportunity.

Eventually, a hog made an appearance — and that’s when things got exciting. There’s nothing quite like watching a sounder or a single hog light up on thermal in the middle of the night. Every detail, from their movement to the heat signature in the grass, brings a whole new level of adrenaline to Night Hog Hunting.

That’s what makes Boar Hunting in Georgia so unique. Even on a short trip, every field holds surprises, and every Wild Hog Hunt offers something different. The experience itself — the teamwork, the gear, and the thrill of spotting pigs under thermal — is what keeps hunters coming back year after year.

Thermal Hog Hunting In Georgia

At Hog SWAT, every Thermal Hunt is different, and this one led by Guide Kaleb proved that persistence and patience make all the difference. This wasn’t like the last few Guided Hog Hunts—it required hard work, determination, and the ability to adapt in the field.

The first field of the night looked promising with a single hog out in the open. Just as the stalk began, a vehicle pulled into the field and spooked the pig, sending it back into cover. From there, the night seemed to shift, and the fields filled mostly with deer. Around 1 a.m., another single hog appeared, but before the hunters could get set up, it slipped away into the night.

As hours passed, the team stayed focused, even when hope started to fade. By 4 a.m., many thought the Boar Hunt was over, but Kaleb wasn’t ready to quit. He knew that hogs often move late, and sure enough, just before 5 a.m., he spotted a pig moving across the field. Some mistook it for a deer, but Kaleb quickly confirmed it was time to gear up.

The stalk took them through tall corn, making visibility tough. Just as the hunters were preparing, the hog closed the distance and came within about 30 yards, locking eyes with the group. There was no time for a long setup—the team acted fast, and with precision, they had success.

The excitement of that moment turned what seemed like a slow night into one packed with adrenaline, teamwork, and a story these hunters will never forget.

Every Georgia Hog Hunt is unique, and this one reminded us that patience in the field is always rewarded. Hog SWAT’s Thermal Hunting Trips are about more than just the pursuit—they’re about the adventure, the strategy, and the memories made along the way.

Huge Boar

This Boar Hunt with Hog SWAT and Guide Kaleb was one for the books. Early in the evening, a Massive Boar was spotted in one of the first fields. After a quick stalk, the father, son, and daughter trio worked together to ensure this Wild Hog didn’t slip away. When the group walked up, it was clear just how impressive this boar was—by far one of the biggest Kaleb has ever put his hands on. For reference, standing next to the hog, one hunter at 5’8” was nearly the same length!

Not long after, the group moved into another field filled with deer. As they waited, another hog entered, giving them the perfect opportunity for a smooth stalk. The result was another Wild Boar on the ground, making the night even more memorable.

Never Give Up:

A Wild Night Hunt with Hog SWAT

Hunting Stalks

Photo: Hunting Stalks @HogSWAT

Some nights, the Thermal Hunt comes easy. Other nights, the Pigs make you work for it. But at Hog SWAT, we don’t believe in giving up—and neither did this crew on a recent Hog Hunt led by Guide Hank.

From the start, it seemed like the Wild Pigs had disappeared. Hours passed, and despite scanning field after field with Thermal Equipment, nothing showed. The frustration was setting in, but we kept moving, covering ground, and staying ready. And then, just when all hope seemed lost—there he was.

Hog Hunting

Photo: Pig Hunt @HogSWAT

A Lone Hog popped up on the Thermal, moving through the field ahead of us. This wasn’t going to be an easy stalk. As we closed in, he spooked and bolted deeper into the field. We tracked him again, only for him to slip away. This cat-and-mouse game repeated itself, testing our patience and skill. Each time we got close, the Wild Hog would make another break for it.

But we don’t quit. Finally, after a careful, calculated approach, we got into position, and just like that—success.

This Wild Hog Hunt was a reminder of what makes Thermal Hog Hunting so thrilling. It’s not always easy, but perseverance pays off. At Hog SWAT, we Hunt hard, push through the challenges, and make every night in the field an adventure.

Four Nights, Two Guides, and a Whole Lot of Patience

Not every Hog Hunt goes as planned. Sometimes the Hogs cooperate, sometimes they don’t - but that’s what makes Hog Hunting such a challenge. A recent 4 Night Hog Hunt with Hog SWAT proved just that, as our Hog Hunters put in the work across multiple nights, with two different guides, to finally get some results.

Night 1 & 2:

Hunting with Guide Wes

Thermal Hog Hunting

Photo: Hog Hunting @HogSWAT

The first two nights were led by Guide Wes, and while the team put in the effort, the Wild Hogs weren’t exactly lining up to be taken. Field after field, stalk after stalk, they stayed just out of reach - until finally, persistence paid off. One Hog Down.

Not the numbers we hoped for, but the Wild Hog Hunt was far from over.

Night 3:

Switching it Up with Guide Zev

With two nights down and one Hog to show for it, the Hog Hunters regrouped with Guide Zev for the second half of their trip. The third night, the team had an opportunity but ended up with a Small Hog. Not the Trophy Boar they were after, but sometimes that’s the way it goes.

Night 4:

A Sounder and a Better Ending

Wild Hog Hunting

Photo: Hog Down @HogSWAT

By night four, frustration could have set in, but these hunters weren’t quitting. With Zev leading the way, they got another chance this time at a Full Sounder. One more Wild Pig was success, giving them a proper ending to a long Hunt.

Hog Hunting is unpredictable, and no two nights are ever the same. Sometimes it’s a grind, sometimes it’s easy. But every hunt is a story, and this one was all about patience, persistence, and making the most of every opportunity.

Hog Hunting in South Georgia is never predictable, and for this group of three Hunters, the night was a test of persistence. With Guide Zev leading the way, they covered plenty of ground in search of Wild Hogs, and by the end of the night, their efforts paid off.

A Tough Start

The Hog Hunt kicked off early with a Single Hog spotted in the distance. The Hog Hunters had success with a Tough Boar. Zev moved the group in closer, but the Hog, now spooked, disappeared into the darkness.

Miles on Foot, Pigs on the Move

Determined to find more targets, the group pushed on, covering a lot of ground in pursuit of another Sounder. They finally closed in, only to find the Wild Pigs had already moved out of sight by the time they got into position. It was a frustrating setback, but they weren’t giving up yet.

Success at Last

At 2 a.m., the persistence finally paid off. A new Sounder of Hogs was spotted, and this time, the Hunters wasted no time. Moving in quickly, and 2 Pigs, ending the night with a hard-earned victory.

Catching Possums

Photo: They Caught Em @HogSWAT

At Hog SWAT, we live for the thrill of the hunt. There’s nothing like scanning the fields under the cover of darkness, tracking down wild hogs with thermal optics, and putting our skills to the test. Our recent group of five Hunters got a firsthand experience of why a 2 Night Hog Hunt is the way to go.

Night One:

A Long Walk in the Dark

Guide Zev led the crew across five miles of farmland, scanning every field, every tree line, and every shadow for Wild Hogs. But that’s Hunting - some nights, the Pigs just don’t cooperate. We don’t sit in stands over bait piles. We go after them. That means some nights, even when you put in the work, the Wild Pigs don’t show up. But the Wild Hog Hunt doesn’t end there.

Night Two:

Redemption

The second night was a completely different story. Once the conditions lined up, the team got a few Wild Hogs, and even managed to snap a picture with three of them. There was also an unexpected guest - a possum - caught in the action for reasons unknown, maybe he wanted to see what all the commotion was about… lol.. Just another night in South Georgia.

This group came ready for the Thermal Hunt, and they got what they came for. The wild card?

Why Two Nights?

1 Night Hog Hunts are a gamble. You might get lucky, or you might cover five miles without a shot. But on a Two-Night Hog Hunt, you increase your chances of success. We can’t promise a hog every time - that’s real Wild Hog Hunting - but we can promise that we’ll put in the work to make it happen.

We don’t bait. We don’t sit in stands. We track, we stalk, and we hunt - like men.

If you’re ready for an Adrenaline-Packed Hunting Experience Chasing Wild Hogs under the stars, book your Guided Hog Hunt today. One night or two, the chase is always worth it. But if you really want to stack up some pigs, go for the two-night hunt.

2 Nights Of Thermal Hunting

Hog SWAT:

Highlights from Zev's Two-Night Hog Hunt

At Hog SWAT, our passion for Wild Hog Hunting runs deep, and when our guide Zev takes a group out, you can always expect an Unforgettable Hunting Experience. Recently, Zev led a team of Hunters on a 2-Night Hunting Expedition, showcasing both the highs of Hunting and the unpredictability of the wild. Here’s a recap of their Hunting Adventures.

Night 1:

A Promising Start

Photo: One Down @HogSWAT

Photo: 2 Down @HogSWAT

The first night of the Hog Hunt was nothing short of fun. Zev and the team hit the ground running, and after an evening of walking and stalking, they successfully got 2 Pigs. The thrill of the chase was palpable, and the Hog Hunters were energized by their success.

Night 2:

The One That Got Away

With high hopes and adrenaline still pumping from the previous evening, the team set out for night two with renewed determination. They spotted a Pig, and as they prepared for the shot, it became a test of patience and precision. Unfortunately, the stubborn Wild Hog decided to make a swift exit.

While Zev and the team did manage to try a Wild Pig, the excitement of the Wild Hog Hunt was tempered by the fact that the Pig didn’t do what we wanted. As a result, there were no photos to commemorate this part of their journey, but that’s the nature of Thermal Hunting—sometimes, the best stories are those that are left untold.

Reflections on the Experience

Zev summarized the Hog Hunting Trip perfectly: it’s about the Thrill of the Hunt, the unpredictability of the wild, and the Hunting Experiences shared among fellow Hunters. While they may not have left with a Trophy Boar from the second night, the lessons learned and the memories made were invaluable.

At Hog SWAT, we pride ourselves on embracing every aspect of Pig Hunting—from the exhilarating successes to the challenges that remind us of why we love what we do. It’s all part of the adventure, and each Thermal Hunting Trip is a chance to grow as Hog Hunters and enjoy The Great Outdoors.

Join Us for Your Next Adventure

If you’re ready to step into the wild and experience the highs and lows of Guided Hog Hunting like Zev’s recent team, we invite you to join us. With Experienced Hunting Guides and a commitment to the sport, Hog SWAT is the perfect place to learn, Hunt, and create lasting memories.

Until next time, happy hunting, and remember: it’s not just about the pigs you take home, but the stories and friendships forged along the way!

At Hog SWAT, we pride ourselves on delivering Memorable Hunting Experiences, and our recent 2 Night Hog Hunt was no exception. With Guide Zev leading the charge on the first night and Guide Hank taking the helm on the second, our Hunters embarked on an Unpredictable Hunting adventure filled with challenges, excitement, and ultimately, success.

Night One:

The Calm Before the Hunt

The first night started with high hopes, as our Hog Hunters anticipated spots filled with Wild Hogs. However, despite their enthusiasm and readiness, it just wasn’t the night for success. Under Guide Zev's expertise, the team didn’t encounter any, but the Pigs proved elusive, leaving the group without any Harvested Game.

While it can be disappointing to leave a Hog Hunt without any Wild Pigs down, every adventure in the field offers invaluable lessons and build camaraderie. That is the name of the game when it comes to Wild Hog Hunting. Hunting these animals in the wild is unpredictable so some nights you might see 100 sometimes it’s none.

Night Two:

A Perfect Setup for Success!

As the sun set, it was Guide Hank’s turn to lead the Hunting Expedition. What an adventure it turned out to be! Just as they arrived in the field, some Wild Pigs were spotted right next to the van. Without skipping a beat, Hank made a snap decision to pursue the Hogs freehand, knowing that setting up the sticks would only send them fleeing.

“The urgency of the moment allowed us to stay in the game,” Hank later explained. With quick reflexes, the Hog Hunters landed them, but they unfortunately didn’t manage to get any photos…

After spending three solid hours searching for a solid target, they finally spotted a Lone Hog—one so starved that it seemed oblivious to the hunters' presence. Patience and stealth paid off, and the group was able to secure it, marking a successful conclusion to the night.
