There’s no better way to launch the newly updated Hog SWAT website than with a classic, high-action South Georgia Thermal Hog Hunt led by Guide Zev.

The night started on Wise Road, where the crew got eyes on a Lone Hog early. Singles are unpredictable, and this one moved out before they could make a clean approach — a reminder that Hog Hunting is never guaranteed, even with perfect gear and timing.

From there, the team headed west to Ben’s, where they located a full Sounder. They began a careful stalk, but swirling wind pushed the pigs off the field before the hunters could get into position. That’s how fast things change in the dark — one shift in the breeze and the entire game resets.

But the night wasn’t done.
Not even close.

Around 1:00 AM, the Thermals lit up again — this time on Eddie’s, where another sounder was feeding across the field. The stalk was slow, controlled, and perfectly executed. When the moment was right, the hunters made it count, and the team recovered three hogs in the field.

When you’re Hunting farmland in South Georgia, every field has its own personality — and this group brought plenty of energy to the night. Daniel, our drone pilot, located a Sounder on a field, setting the stage for quick action right out of the gate.

Locating Hogs With the Drone

With the drone up, Daniel spotted a Group of Hogs working through the field. As soon as the hunters moved in, excitement took over. Let’s just say they were ready to go — even if it meant crunching every corn stalk under their boots on the way in.

Because the hogs were already alert from the noise, the team had to take their positions sooner than planned, resulting in longer-distance than we typically prefer.

Connecting With the Hogs

Despite the challenging approach, the group still managed to connect with two hogs, and one of them disappeared into the crop rows. With thick cover and broken stalks everywhere, it was tough to track from the ground alone.

That’s when Daniel stepped up again.

Some nights remind us exactly why Thermal Hog Hunting in Georgia is one of the most unpredictable, exciting experiences you can have outdoors — and last night proved it.

While Guide Max and the team were out training new guides and scanning for coyotes, the sky put on a show no one expected: the Northern Lights Glowing over South Georgia. A rare sight that set the tone for a night full of surprises.

Not long after, a pig stepped out right in front of a coyote we were watching. We immediately called Guide Zev to take over the stalk. He rushed to the field and got set up, but the pig slipped away before he arrived.

A little later, while we were still calling, a Massive Lone Boar emerged. We kept eyes on it and called Zev again. He pulled in quickly — but just as he reached the field, the Boar dipped into a low spot and vanished. Even with Thermals Scanning and Max checking the pivot for elevation, the boar disappeared into the terrain like a shadow.

After a third careful stalk that ended the same way, it was clear:
Some nights, the pigs win.

Guide Capt. Clayton led this 1 Night Hog Hunt in Americus, GA, where the crew came down to celebrate Austin’s 34th birthday. The night kicked off strong — in the very first field, they spotted pigs and made quick work of it. Two bangs later, one hog sleeping forever before midnight.

Things slowed down after that, but not for lack of effort. Around 2 AM, the team spotted two more pigs in another field, only for a pack of coyotes to start howling and push the pigs deep into the trees before they could line up another chance.

Even with the slow stretch, the guys had an awesome night celebrating, Hunting, and making memories that will last far longer than the birthday cake.

It was a long night of riding through the fields, scanning with thermals, and catching sight after sight of deer — but no Wild Hogs in range. Persistence pays off, though. Around 4 AM, the team finally spotted a Big Sow feeding alone in a peanut field.

With the bright moonlight backlighting their position, Hank and the hunters moved carefully to avoid spooking her. Once they lined up from about 200 yards out, they made it count. One clean placement, one Big Pig forever sleeping — great success.

It was another great night of Hog Hunting in Americus Georgia with Guide Zev leading the way for this Father-Daughter Hunting Duo! After getting five pigs on night one, the crew wasn’t done yet — they were back for round two and ended the hunt with one Big Pig sleeping.

Meanwhile, Georgia fans were holding their breath as the Dawgs faced Auburn, trailing until the fourth quarter. We didn’t score until the third — it was way too close for comfort. But just like the Dawgs pulled through with a 20–10 win, this Father-Daughter Hunting Team stuck it out and made it happen under the stars.

What’s better than College Game Day in Georgia? A Friday night spent chasing Wild Hogs under the stars.

While fans were gearing up for another weekend of football, one Father–Daughter Hunting Duo was out in the fields for night one of their 2-Night Thermal Hog Hunt with Guide Zev — and they kicked things off like champions.

The night started off calm, but as soon as Zev got them in position, things got exciting fast. With steady teamwork and good communication, they got five pigs, setting the tone for an action-packed weekend.

The first field of the night looked promising with a single hog out in the open. Just as the stalk began, a vehicle pulled into the field and spooked the pig, sending it back into cover. From there, the night seemed to shift, and the fields filled mostly with deer. Around 1 a.m., another single hog appeared, but before the hunters could get set up, it slipped away into the night.

As hours passed, the team stayed focused, even when hope started to fade. By 4 a.m., many thought the Boar Hunt was over, but Kaleb wasn’t ready to quit. He knew that hogs often move late, and sure enough, just before 5 a.m., he spotted a pig moving across the field. Some mistook it for a deer, but Kaleb quickly confirmed it was time to gear up.

The stalk took them through tall corn, making visibility tough. Just as the hunters were preparing, the hog closed the distance and came within about 30 yards, locking eyes with the group. There was no time for a long setup—the team acted fast, and with precision, they had success.

This Boar Hunt with Hog SWAT and Guide Kaleb was one for the books. Early in the evening, a Massive Boar was spotted in one of the first fields. After a quick stalk, the father, son, and daughter trio worked together to ensure this Wild Hog didn’t slip away. When the group walked up, it was clear just how impressive this boar was—by far one of the biggest Kaleb has ever put his hands on. For reference, standing next to the hog, one hunter at 5’8” was nearly the same length!

Guide Kaleb recently took a father and his two sons out for a Thermal Hog Hunt that started off slow, with little movement early on. Around 1 a.m., deer began to stir, but the Pigs stayed hidden. The group stayed focused and kept working the fields.

One of their last stops was a freshly cut field. After waiting patiently near a pivot, a lone sow finally stepped out under the moonlight. With deer all around, the stalk had to be slow and quiet—but the team moved perfectly.

At about 150 yards out, they got set up and made it happen. A quiet night turned into a successful one, and a great memory was made in the process.

Guide Kaleb led an unforgettable Bachelor Hunt recently. On just the second field of the night, the group spotted a Wild Hog in the back, with a large number of deer between them and their target. They carefully worked their way around most of the deer, but one caught wind and alerted the rest of the field. The Hog became cautious, but the group made a quick move and got into position. Everything came together perfectly. The rest of the night was full of wildlife sightings, including a special moment watching a group of pups—possibly coyotes—play together under the stars. We had some Secret Squirrels hunting with us, or maybe someone famous, or could it have been a vegetarian who secretly loves meat. We will never know the customers did not want to be in photos so let your imagination run wild. It’s like our Wild Hog Hunts you never know where, when or how many of them will show up. Guide Kaleb recently led a 2 Night Thermal Hog Hunt for a Father and Son Hunting Duo that reminded us all why we do this: not just for the Pigs, but for the Hunting Memories made under the stars, the miles walked in the dark, and the satisfaction of earning every chance.

Night 1:

Hope at the Final Hour

The first night started slow. Real slow. Field after field turned up nothing but deer. Spirits began to fade, and by 3:30 a.m., you could feel the discouragement setting in. But Kaleb wasn’t ready to call it. He made one last push, one final sweep of a back field—and at 5:30 a.m., it paid off. A Sounder of Pigs.

They were jittery right from the start. We made a careful stalk, but they weren’t making it easy. Still, Kaleb got the hunters into position. The chance was farther than ideal, but the opportunity wasn’t going to get better. It was now or never. The team connected, and though the Hogs made it to the woods, it was a thrilling way to end an otherwise slow night. The father and son were both Top-Notch Hunters—resilient, positive, and a blast to Wild Hog Hunt with despite the long wait.

Night 2:

From Frustration to Fireworks

Night two came with its own challenges. We had a Sow and her young hanging close to the treeline. Kaleb and the Hog Hunters set up in the field, ready for them to step out. After about 30 minutes, just when it looked like they were going to make a move, a deer blew our cover—literally—and spooked the whole setup.

Later in the night, we spotted a Lone Hog out in the open. It took a long walk and a careful stalk to get in range, with the moon bright and deer watching from every corner. But patience and persistence paid off. The Hunters locked in and made it count.

As the night wound down, we made one last check before calling it. Nothing at first—then a Sounder way off in the distance. The sun was about to rise, so we had to move fast. Kaleb led the final stalk, and it all came together. Both hunters landed solid chances, each re-homing a Wild Hog just before first light. The others escaped into the woods, but the smiles said it all.

We finished the Thermal Hog Hunt under a colorful South Georgia sunrise, swapping stories and laughing about the night’s events. These guys were a joy to guide, and the Guided Hog Hunt reminded us that the best moments often come when you push through the quiet stretches and keep grinding.

Night one started off slow, but momentum picked up when the group spotted a Lone Hog early on. The team worked together seamlessly, and it was one of those perfect moments that makes it all worthwhile. While the rest of the night was quiet on the fields, the energy stayed high. “Lots of laughs and great conversations,” Kaleb said. “These guys were awesome to spend the night Hunting Wild Hogs with.”

Night two kicked off with some early action as a Coyote came into a call. Chances were taken, but the coyote slipped away. Not long after, the crew got on a Sounder of Hogs that led them on a chase across the field—twice around a running pivot. Eventually, the group had a clear opportunity, and several Pigs were looked like they were almost re-homed, but none remained in the field. Later that night, they spotted another Group Of Wild Hogs, but a distant sound that i’m not allowed to say because google can be weird spooked the animals before anything could develop. To wrap things up, they pulled into one last field and spotted another Coyote in the Wild. A quick mouth call brought it in close, but once again, it managed to slip away.

Despite the wild ups and downs, the experience was everything a great Wild Hog Hunt should be. “These were some of the best guys I’ve guided yet,” Kaleb said. “Tons of laughs and some awesome memories made.”
