Hog Hunting In South Georgia

Hog Hunting In Georgia

South Georgia is legendary for Hog Hunting, but every night in the field tells a unique story. Recently, Guide Jordan took a group out for an action-packed start to a 2-night thermal hunt. It was an evening filled with close encounters, fast-moving hogs, and high-tech gear.

Like most of our Guided Hog Hunting Trips, the night began by scouting the "hot zones"—fields where we’ve seen consistent activity over the last few days.

Scouting the Fields

The hunt kicked off with stops at several properties. These are usually some of the most productive spots for Wild Hog Hunting in South Georgia, but the pigs were playing it cool early on.

Jordan moved the group to more fields, where the thermal finally picked up a lone hog in the distance. The hunters began a stealthy approach, but just as they were closing the gap, the pig caught a scent and slipped into the timber.

That’s the reality of Night Hunting for Hogs—sometimes the pigs win the first round.

A Coyote Surprise

On the way to a field known as â€ś20,” the group spotted some unexpected movement. Instead of hogs, four coyotes were out in the open.

Jordan called them in, bringing the pack to within 70 yards. One hunter worked to lock on in the thermal as the coyotes began to scatter. Shots rang out and hits were confirmed, but the thick, tall winter wheat made recovery impossible. Even when you're geared up for hogs, the Georgia night always has a few surprises up its sleeve.

The Sounder Charges

The momentum shifted at the next field. As Jordan was pulling away from the west side, the thermal picked up exactly what we were looking for: a large sounder of hogs stepping into the open.

The hunters deployed quickly as the pigs began to move across the field. When the first shots connected, the sounder didn't just scatter—they turned and ran straight toward the group.

This is the peak of Thermal Hog Hunting. The hunters stayed calm and stayed on target as the hogs closed the distance. Several animals were tagged as they blurred past the group. By the time the dust settled, two hogs were down in the grass and a third was recovered at the edge of the field.

3 Hogs Down: A Solid Start

By the end of the chaos, the group had 3 confirmed hogs. The crew handled the recovery and butchered the hogs, heading home with coolers starting to fill. For the first night of a 2-night hunt, it was a textbook success.

Experience Guided Hog Hunting in Georgia

Every night is a gamble when you’re Hog Hunting in Georgia. Some nights are a slow burn, and some nights the hogs come charging right at your boots. That’s why we do what we do.

If you’re ready to get behind a thermal scope and experience the thrill of the night hunt, our guides are ready for you.

Thermal Hog Hunting Video

At Hog SWAT, we are always looking for ways to improve the experience for our hunters. Recently, our guide Jordan started editing some of our Thermal Hog Hunting Videos from past hunts. While the videos are great for our business, they also serve another important purpose — helping our guides get even better at what they do.

Just like football players watch film to study their performance, watching hunt footage allows our guides to see exactly what happened during a hunt from start to finish from the hunters eyes.

When you review video from a Night Hog Hunt in Georgia, you notice things you might not catch in the moment.

For example:

  • How quickly the hogs reacted

  • Remembering where a sounder entered the field

  • Chance placement on thermal from the hunters

  • How the guide positioned the group

Watching these moments on video helps guides analyze and improve hog future hunts.

Learning From Thermal Hog Hunting Footage

During a Thermal Hog Hunt, things happen fast.

Hogs can appear suddenly in a field, and once the chances starts the entire sounder can scatter in seconds. By reviewing thermal agm footage, guides can slow the moment down and study what happened. Improving future hunts for the next hunter that joins the hog swat team for a night.

Jordan editing this footage gives him the chance to:

  • Study hog behavior on thermal

  • Improve chance placement guidance

  • Learn how hunters react during high-adrenaline moments

  • Identify the best way to position hunters during a stalk

  • Understand what the hunter sees through their thermal gear

This kind of review helps make future hunts smoother, safer, and more successful.

Seeing the Hunt From the Hunter’s Perspective

Another big benefit of editing our Hog Hunting Videos is that it allows guides to see the Themral Hog Hunt from the hunter’s point of view.

Guides are often focused on:

  • Locating hogs

  • Managing the group

  • Making sure everyone is safe

  • Coordinating chances

But when they watch the footage later, they can see exactly what the hunter saw through their Thermal.

This helps guides better understand the customer experience during a Night Hog Hunt, which allows them to guide even better on the next hunting trip.

Why Video Is Such a Valuable Tool for Hog Hunting

The footage is also a powerful tool for improvement.

Just like athletes studying film, watching hunting footage helps guides:

  • Improve strategy

  • Understand hog movement patterns

  • Refine how they guide hunters in the field

  • Learn how hogs react to pressure

Over time, this leads to better hunts, more hogs, and an even better experience for our clients.

Experience Thermal Hog Hunting in Georgia

At Hog SWAT, our guides are constantly working to improve and provide the best thermal hog hunting experience in Georgia.

Whether it’s learning hog behavior, studying thermal footage, or reviewing past hunts, we are always pushing ourselves to get better.

If you want to experience night hog hunting with thermal and see what the excitement is all about, we would love to have you join us.

You might even end up starring in one of our next hunt videos.

Hog Hunting In Georgia

If you want to experience Hog Hunting In Georgia, you have to be ready to adapt to the conditions. After a quiet start to Night 2, Guide Jordan took a high-ground position on a pivot to maximize our Thermal Hog Hunts strategy. While we offer various Hunting Packages for hunters to have the choice of how long you want to Hog Hunt, the goal remains the same: putting meat in the cooler.

The team engaged in a high-stakes Nighttime Hog Hunting stalk, navigating open fields to within 150 yards. While the first encounter was a close call, the crew stayed focused—exactly what we teach in our Guided Hog Hunting sessions. They quickly relocated another target and used the tree line to conceal their silhouettes, a masterclass in Wild Hog Hunting field-craft. With a full moon we have to do everything we can to stay hidden.

Even with a minor equipment 'clank' on the tripod that put the target on high alert, the team’s improved camouflage and steady nerves won the night. They successfully executed a chance, securing a clean success. This is why so many people choose us for their Family Hunting Trips; we turn a 'miss' into a lesson and a 'lesson' into a harvest. After a final session on field-dressing, the Hunting Trip concluded as a 'Great Success.' If you’re ready to test your skills in the Georgia fields, Book your hog hunt with us at Hog SWAT!

The Best Hog Hunting In Georgia is about more than just whats on the ground; it’s about passing down the skills of a true woodsman. Guide Jordan led a recent Thermal Hog Hunting trip where the mission was as much about education as it was about the harvest. Under a moon that was 'bright as all hell,' the team utilized pivots and natural backdrops to stay hidden while tracking a large sounder.

The tactical patience paid off with a successful double recovery. In a great display of the Wild Hog Hunting lifestyle, the clients and their sons took the lead on the butchering process, spending over an hour learning how to properly handle a harvest in the field. This hands-on experience is a hallmark of our Georgia Guided Hog Hunting—we love seeing the next generation get involved!

The action continued, where a 100-yard stalk led to another clean drop. However, the bright moonlight proved to be a challenging teacher later in the night. Despite a perfect downwind approach on a group of five, the team learned a valuable lesson in Night Hog Hunting camouflage when high-visibility clothing gave away their position. It was a classic teachable moment that ended a Great Success of a night. We’ve got the gear swapped out and the lessons learned, and we are ready for an even bigger Night 2 of Georgia Boar Hunting!

When you book a Large Group Hog Hunt with us, you get the full power of our professional staff. Guide Jordan led one wing of our 6-hunter group for a night of Thermal Hog Hunting. The evening kicked off with a few nuisance beavers before transitioning into a primary Wild Hog Hunting mission.

Despite the challenges of a bright, moonlit night, the team utilized tactical spacing to stay hidden in the open fields. Using our advanced Night Hog Hunts gear, they successfully stalked a Lone Boar, closing the distance to 150 yards for a clean recovery.

The highlight of the night came when Jordan and Max synchronized their groups for a massive joint-effort stalk. After spotting a large sounder on a 30-acre tract, both guides coordinated their hunters for a synchronized approach. This is where Georgia Guided Hog Hunting really shines—seeing a large group move as one unit to secure three additional recoveries. It was a 'Great Success' that proved why we offer the Best Hog Hunts for anyone wanting to bring the whole crew into the field!

In the high-stakes world of Georgia Hog Hunting, clear communication between the guide and the hunter is the difference between a miss and a trophy. Guide Jordan led a recent Nighttime Hog Hunting mission where a quick misunderstanding on a Coyote set the tone for a night of total focus. After a quick refresher on our tactical countdown process, the team was dialed in and ready for the action.

The team transitioned to a nearby cornfield where they utilized Thermal Hog Hunts technology to locate a lone Wild Boar among the stalks. Executing a perfect 100-yard setup, the hunters were synchronized, and the pig re-homed instantly. This is the kind of efficiency we strive for in every Guided Hog Hunting Trip.

As the night progressed, the team encountered a wary single that kept its distance, feeding near the timber. When the target paused 200 yards out, the hunters decided to take the long-range chance rather than risk a closer approach. While the distance proved challenging and the pig escaped into the trees, it was an incredible display of the scouting and stalking required for Wild Hog Hunting. Every Hog Hunting session is a learning experience, and our guides ensure that every guest walks away with better field-craft and a great story!

There is something special about Georgia Night Hog Hunting just after a fresh rain. Guide Max led a recent session where the damp air and bright moonlight created the perfect atmosphere for an elite Wild Hog Hunting experience. While the movement started off slow, the team’s persistence paid off as they located a group of three hogs and successfully secured a recovery.

At Hog SWAT, we know that for many of our guests, the Best Hog Hunting experience doesn't end in the field. This group is walking away with more than just a great story; we are processing their harvest into premium Cheddar Jalapeño and Maple links. Along with the custom sausage, they’ve requested a professional Euro mount to commemorate their Hog Hunting success.

Whether you are here for the high-octane action of Thermal Hog Hunts or you’re looking to stock your freezer with the best organic meat, we take pride in every step of the process. It’s always 'fun shooting stuff,' but it’s even better when that Guided Hog Hunting trip results in a trophy on the wall and a feast on the table

If you are looking for the Best Georgia Hog Hunts, you have to be ready for the unexpected. Guide Jordan led a recent Nighttime Hog Hunting Trip that turned into a multi-species adventure. While scouting for our primary targets, the team encountered a massive beaver just feet from the van. In a quick display of precision Thermal Hunting, Jordan secured the target, proving that Hog Hunting always keeps you on your toes.

The night then shifted into a high-intensity Wild Hog Hunting pursuit. After a lone boar was spooked by local coyotes, the team utilized Thermal Hog Hunting tactics to track down two more hogs on another property. When one hog was injured and began a desperate crawl toward the timber, Jordan engaged in a full-out foot race to ensure a successful finish to the Guided Hog Hunting session.

This wasn't just your average Pig Hunt; it was a gritty display of why we offer the Best Hog Hunting in Georgia. Even on a slower night for the sounders, our commitment to the Wild Hog Hunts means we go the extra mile—or in this case, the extra sprint—to put meat on the ground. For those seeking the Best Hog Hunts that combine technology with raw effort, Hog SWAT remains the top choice for Wild Hog Hunting.

Field Butchering

At Hog SWAT, we believe a great guide is always learning. To ensure our clients always receive the best Hog Hunting Georgia experience, veteran guide Jordan took our newest team member, Noah, out for a tactical training session. The goal was simple: master the terrain, study the wind, and execute high-pressure sounder recoveries.

The night began with a lesson in persistence. After a wary single managed to evade the team by using the shifting winds, Jordan and Noah pivoted to the Chokee property. Here, they located a large sounder and turned the encounter into a tactical classroom. After discussing several approach options, they executed Noah’s plan: a disciplined flank through the timber to mask their scent and silhouette.

The strategy worked perfectly. By hugging the tree line, they closed the distance to just 70 yards. The result? Five successful recoveries from a single sounder. The training didn't stop in the field, either. Noah put in the work on the processing table, demonstrating the 'field-to-table' skills we value at Hog SWAT. This commitment to training ensures that when you book a Wild Boar Hunting trip with us, you are being led by the most prepared guides in the industry.

Boars or Boats?

We always tell our guests that Hog Hunting Georgia is an adventure, but guide Jordan took that a little too literally this week. Everyone knows Jordan isn't much of a boat guy, but apparently, he needed a reminder that our scouting vans don't exactly come with a hull and a propeller.

While out on a high-stakes Thermal Hog Hunting mission, Jordan found a patch of Georgia 'marsh' that was a little deeper than it looked. We’re not sure if he was trying to turn a Night Hog Hunting trip into a deep-sea expedition, but the van decided it was much happier being a submarine than a transport vehicle.

Luckily, the only thing that got hurt was Jordan’s pride (and maybe his boots). While he may not understand that vans don't float, he definitely knows how to find the pigs. We’ve told him that from now on, we’re keeping the Wild Boar Hunting on solid ground. If you’re looking for a guide who is willing to go to the depths—literally—to find your sounder, Jordan is your man. Just maybe bring some waterproof waders just in case!

Wild Hog Hunting

In the world of Hog Hunting Georgia, patience is often the most important piece of gear you can carry. Guide Hank led a group through several hours of diligent scouting across South Georgia, utilizing our advanced Thermal Hog Hunting gear to monitor the fields for any sign of movement.

The early hours were quiet, but as any seasoned Night Hog Hunting pro knows, the woods wake up after midnight. The team finally locked onto a single target, beginning a bold, direct stalk through the darkness. Navigating the uneven terrain of Georgia at night can be a challenge—resulting in a quick tumble for the team—but they stayed focused on the objective.

The group successfully closed the distance and executed a clean recovery, turning a long night of scouting into a 'Great Success.' This trip is a perfect reminder that Wild Boar Hunting isn't just about the shots fired; it’s about the grit and determination to stay in the field until the job is done. At Hog SWAT, we don't head home early—we stay out until we find the action.

Thermal Hog Hunts

Night two of our Hog Hunting Georgia expedition proved that in the world of Wild Boar Hunting, you have to be ready for anything—technical or otherwise. We started the evening at our newest property, utilizing Thermal for Hog Hunting to track a large sounder moving through a low spot near a local pond.

Professionalism is key in Night Hog Hunting, so we exercised extreme patience, waiting for the sounder to clear a group of nearby deer before engaging. Despite an initial equipment hurdle, the team stayed focused. When a second sounder entered the field exactly where the first had been, we seized the opportunity. With all three shooters synchronized, we secured a triple recovery in a high-action encounter that pushed our equipment to the limit.

The night wasn't without its technical challenges. Between re-mounting a silencer and performing a field-reset on a thermal unit, our guides proved they are just as much technicians as they are hunters. At Hog SWAT, we ensure the gear stays running so the Hog Hunting experience never stops. Though the group decided to head in early after a long night of tactical maneuvers and field dressing, it was another successful chapter in our South Georgia management efforts.

If you want to know what Hog Hunting Georgia is really like, just ask guide Jordan about his first night at the Mercer property. Real-world Night Hog Hunting doesn't always go according to plan, and when the Georgia mud (what we call Georgia clay) claimed our scouting van, Jordan didn't call it a night—he went to work.

While waiting for a recovery team, Jordan literally dug the group out by hand to ensure the Hog Hunt continued on foot. This level of dedication to Wild Boar Hunting paid off quickly. The team located a single boar at 100 yards, and despite the target's best efforts to relocate after the first chance, the group stayed focused until the recovery was secured.

Even with a tow truck on the way, the mission didn't stop. The team pivoted to a new sector using a backup vehicle, utilizing Thermal Hog Hunting to locate multiple sounders in a fresh field. After some tactical gate-scouting and a stealthy 90-yard approach, a second successful recovery was made. We finished the night with field-dressing and marking new territory for future Boar Hunting success. It was a night defined by mud, grit, and the refusal to go home empty-handed—exactly what Hog Hunting Georgia is all about.

Hog Hunting

The final night of our Georgia Hunting Trip with guide Jordan required a high level of tactical awareness and terrain management. We began the evening at a property with high activity, identifying a sounder on the western edge of the fields.

Because the terrain had been freshly tilled—making foot travel difficult—Jordan utilized a strategic road-side approach. This allowed our guests to maintain a steady position while closing the distance to 110 yards. Our Thermal Hunting equipment provided a clear advantage, resulting in a successful recovery to start the night.

The action continued as we transitioned to a secondary location where another sounder was located. By 'hugging the tree line' to mask our silhouettes, we were able to close within 90 yards of the closest group. This stealthy maneuver led to another successful Wild Hog recovery, even as the sounder scattered.

To wrap up the night, our scout Noah identified the 'tops' of hogs feeding in a deep low spot. This required a 'over the horizon' stalk, where the terrain hides both the hunter and the target. We managed to get within 70 yards before the sounder’s keen senses alerted them to the encounter. While the final group made a quick exit, the night was a testament to the skill required for Boar Hunting in the varied landscapes of Georgia. It was a trip full of tactical maneuvers and successful recoveries that our guests won't soon forget.

Hog Hunting With Thermal

The first night of our Georgia Hunting Trip with guide Jordan was a masterclass in thorough scouting. After checking several sectors with no activity, our team utilized a coordinated scouting strategy at a new location. By splitting our observation points, we were able to quickly identify a single Wild Hog in a low spot of the field.

The group executed a disciplined approach, closing the distance to 100 yards. In professional Boar Hunting, ensuring a clean recovery is the top priority. After the initial connection, the team moved in and utilized follow-up measures to ensure the process was handled with professional standards. It was a successful start that rewarded the group's patience during the early quiet hours.

Later in the evening, our Thermal Hog Hunting scouts located another single in the western fields. We took our time with this 120-yard setup, emphasizing the Hog SWAT philosophy of being '100% ready' before calling the shot. While technical readiness at the range is one thing, the heat of a Wild Hog encounter can challenge even the most prepared. Although the second opportunity didn't result in a recovery before the target reached the property line, the night provided invaluable experience in real-world tactical conditions. We are ready to take these lessons into night two for more Hog Hunting in Georgia.

The second night of our South Georgia Hunting Trip with guide Jordan was a masterclass in persistence. After scouting several quiet sectors, our Thermal Hunting technology identified a single Wild Hog feeding near a tree line. The team executed a patient stalk, closing the distance to 70 yards for a clean, successful recovery.

The action then pivoted to Predator Hunting. While monitoring an agricultural pivot, the group encountered a coyote. After an initial high-stakes encounter, Jordan used tactical repositioning to set up a second opportunity from 100 yards out. The team stayed focused, resulting in a successful Coyote Hunting recovery that highlights the versatility required for Night Hunts in Georgia.

To wrap up the evening, we returned to a high-activity field and located a massive Wild Hog—a giant lone boar. With other hogs scattered in the distance, our guide prioritized the closest high-value target. A precise setup led to an instant recovery of the large boar, finishing the night on a high note. Whether we are focused on Boar Hunting or managing local predators, Hog SWAT delivers a professional, tactical experience every time we step into the South Georgia fields.

Boar Hunting IN Georgia

The first night of our recent Boar Hunting trip in Georgia was a masterclass in persistence and tactical movement. Guide Jordan led the group through several fields, utilizing professional Thermal Hunting technology to scout for activity during the early hours of the night.

After patient monitoring, a group of six Wild Hogs was identified emerging from the tree line. The team executed a precise stalk, closing the distance to within 80 yards. When the opportunity presented itself, the group capitalized on the movement in the open field, resulting in a successful recovery to start the night.

The action didn't stop there. While returning to the vehicle, Jordan spotted a single Wild Hog in the open. Using the terrain to their advantage, the group moved through a low spot to get within a mere 30 yards. This close-range Hog Hunting setup allowed for a perfect recovery, with the target secured instantly.

Before wrapping up, the team located another single hog at 80 yards and secured a final connection. Night one proved that in South Georgia, staying mobile and using the right Thermal Hog Hunting equipment is the key to turning a quiet night into a high-action success. We are looking forward to seeing what night two brings for this Georgia Hog Hunting adventure.
