At Hog SWAT, we pride ourselves on delivering high-energy, adrenaline-pumping hunts and last night was no exception. Guide Hank led a group of four Hunters on a one-night Thermal Hog Hunt, and to say it was action-packed would be an understatement.

The night kicked off strong when the crew spotted a Sounder early on. With teamwork, they had success, six Pigs, including three Piglets. In a wild display of animal instinct, the piglets actually ran back into the field searching for their fallen mother, giving the Hog Hunters an up-close look at just how unpredictable nature can be.

But the fun didn’t stop there, they decided to do a little Rabbit Hunting. Between scanning fields for more Wild Pigs, the crew found a couple of Rabbits, watching them on Thermal - a spectacle that had everyone laughing and pumped up for the next round of action.

As the night went on, the group decided they were about ready to wrap things up after checking one last field. Apparently, the Wild Pigs had other plans. A Sounder was waiting at the back of the field, almost as if they knew the Hog Hunters weren’t quite done yet. The crew wasted no time, adding one more Pig to the total count, bringing the night’s success to 7 Hogs.

The first night started off with high hopes for Wild Hogs, but as any Seasoned Hunter knows, the night can take unexpected turns. Instead of Piggies, the father and son found themselves locked in on a different target - a Coyote. With a well-placed shot, they took down a nice one, proving that you never know what you’ll run into on a Night Hunt in South Georgia.

Night Two:

Hog Hunting is Back!

After an unexpected Coyote Hunt the night before, the pressure was on to put some Pigs on the ground. Wes got the team into a solid setup, and this time, the Hogs cooperated. By the end of the night, they had three Wild Hogs Down - a solid way to wrap up their Thermal Hog Hunt.

Hog SWAT recently hosted an exhilarating 2 Night Hog Hunting adventure that brought out the best in camaraderie and skill under the South Georgia stars. Led by our seasoned Guide Zev, a group of passionate Hunters came prepared for action—their mission: to track and bring home some Wild Pork.

From the moment the group arrived, it was evident that these were no ordinary Hunters. With a spirit of determination and a shared love for The Thrill Of The Hunt, the camaraderie among the Amish lads set the stage for an Unforgettable Hunting Experience. Their laughter echoed in the cool night air, as Zev tossed around his favorite (and sometimes questionable) jokes that only seemed to fuel their enthusiasm even further.

The hunt kicked off on the first night, where conditions were far from forgiving. The team braved the elements, covering ground and staying vigilant until the early hours of the morning. Patience and perseverance paid off when, after a long pursuit, they finally encountered a Group of Wild Pigs. In a burst of energy and adrenaline, they successfully took down their prize, celebrating in triumph before packing it in for the night.

The second night proved to be a different story, as the Hog Hunters capitalized on their experience and knowledge gained from the previous evening. Not long after settling in, Zev and the crew spotted a Lone Hog. With precision and teamwork, they quickly securing it. But the night was still young!

Fueled by the thrill of the chase, they set out again, roaming the rugged terrain until the early hours. Their determination delivered results yet again when they encountered another herd, ultimately adding a second Wild Hog to their impressive tally. The night rolled on until 4 a.m., filled with laughter, bonds forged in the field, and the satisfaction of a Successful Hunt.

A Pre-Christmas Adventure with Guide Hank

As the holiday season approached, Guide Hank was hard at work leading a series of Successful Hog Hunts at Hog SWAT. With the excitement of Thermal Hog Hunting in the air, three separate outings delivered impressive results for the Hunters, showcasing the thrill of the chase and the sheer beauty of Hunting in the Wild.

First Hunt:

An Unexpected Bounty

In the first outing, the night unfolded with remarkable success. Gear up for some impressive tactics as the group unexpectedly balled out, bringing down four Pigs. As they navigated through the fields, they encountered several Sounders, though circumstances prevented free-fire shooting. Despite the obstacles, which included pivots and overgrown ditches, the Hog Hunters walked away with four Wild Hogs and plenty of stories to tell.

Second Hunt:

The Chase

The second Hog Hunt brought its own set of challenges and rewards. The team embarked on a whirlwind chase after Wild Pigs moving erratically through a field, navigating east and west in an effort to cut them off. Their persistence paid off when they eventually secured their first Hog. The next field offered a picturesque scene under the bright moonlight, where two Wild Hogs rested in a ditch. Utilizing the terrain, the Pig Hunters moved around the hill, patiently waiting until the Pigs were just 70 yards away. With precise shots, they successfully took down both Piggies, ending the night on a high note.

Third Hunt:

A Night Cap

The final Wild Hog Hunt of the trip proved to be equally thrilling. Guide Hank spotted a Small Group of Pigs and maneuvered to get within shooting range, successfully taking down two. As a fitting conclusion to the night, in the very last field, a Lone Pig was spotted. It was a tense moment with the moonlight illuminating the scene as Hank made his shot from 100 yards. However, this resourceful Hog had other plans and dashed into the woods, taking a couple of bullets along for the ride. Though it escaped, the excitement of the pursuit made for another great success.

Last night marked one of the best nights yet at Hog SWAT, as Guide Hank led a thrilling 1 Night Hog Hunt that resulted in an impressive haul. The adventure unfolded in the beautiful Georgia Wilderness, where Thermal Hog Hunting has become a popular pursuit for enthusiasts seeking the thrill of the chase under the cloak of darkness.

A Strategic Approach to Success

The night began with a quick strategic adjustment to account for the wind direction. After changing their angle of approach in the first field, the Hog Hunters found great success, quickly taking down three Wild Pigs. This early triumph set the tone for the rest of the evening, showcasing the effectiveness of Thermal Hunting techniques.

As they made their way back to the van, luck smiled upon them once more. They spotted four additional Pigs in a field near the road, close to their parked van. With adrenaline surging, the Hog Hunters took aim and successfully brought down two more impressive Wild Hogs. In total, five Hogs were harvested during the Wild Hog Hunt, with two of them weighing in at over 220 pounds.

After an initial foray that yielded only a Single Hog, the team considered wrapping things up. However, Hank’s commitment to delivering results kept them in the field longer. His dedication to ensuring an enjoyable and successful Guided Hog Hunt shone through as he pushed forward.

Just as dawn began to break, the early morning hours transformed the environment. Around 5 AM, an exhilarating discovery awaited them. Hank checked a field where he spotted nearly 30 Wild Hogs tucked away in a secluded corner. The adrenaline kicked in. The sight was not only staggering but also filled the Hunters with a renewed sense of purpose.

The team quickly jumped into action, showcasing their skills and teamwork. Through strategic planning and execution, they managed to secure three healthy Pigs. As the sunlight streamed in, they shifted to the next phase of their successful Wild Hog Hunt: butchering. “Butchered them in the daylight. Great success,” Hank proudly noted.

Hunting Wild Hogs requires patience, determination, and adaptability, and this past 2-Night Thermal Hog Hunt with Guide Hank proved just that! A dedicated repeat customer returned to Hog SWAT, ready for another thrilling adventure under the South Georgia night skies. Here’s how their Hog Hunt unfolded.

Night 1: Challenging Conditions

The first night began with high hopes as the team set out for some action-packed stalking. The conditions, however, were challenging, with shifting winds and a few near-misses. A Sounder was spotted at Dream Farm, but shifting winds gave the Hogs the upper hand. Later at Ben’s, the Hog Hunter managed a few shots, hitting at least one pig before the group scattered.

The night’s unexpected highlight came while driving to a new location. A Wild Hog appeared right in front of the van, providing a quick and unexpected opportunity. Hank swiftly set up the Hunter, and while the hog was hit, it ultimately evaded capture. Despite the challenges, spirits remained high, knowing the second night promised a fresh chance to succeed.

Night 2: Success Through Strategy

The second night brought renewed energy, and this time, persistence paid off. The first Wild Hog Stalk of the evening was disrupted by deer that spooked nearby Piggies. On the second stalk, the team spotted a Wild Pig from the van but initially had trouble locating it after taking a long route to approach undetected.

Just as they were preparing to call it a night, the Pig reappeared, offering the perfect opportunity. Hank and the hunter carefully waited for the right moment, ensuring the shot was well-executed. This time, the result was a successful harvest and smiles all around—a testament to patience and determination paying off.
