As the sun dipped below the horizon, the excitement filled the air. The night began with an adrenaline-pumping chase as the Hog Hunters and Guide Zev set out to find their elusive quarry. With keen eyes and expert placement, they quickly located a group of scared Pigs, ready to make their move.

The hunters honed their skills under Zev’s guidance, successfully getting 2 Wild Hogs and marking the night as a triumph. The thrill of the chase, the rush of adrenaline, and the sweet taste of victory created an intoxicating atmosphere that enveloped them as they celebrated their achievements of Wild Hog Hunting in the field.

A Night of Laughter and Karaoke

But the fun didn’t stop with just the Hog Hunt. After securing their game, the evening took a delightful turn when members of the group broke into spontaneous karaoke, belting out Taylor Swift tunes under the starry South Georgia sky. The blend of Thermal Hunting and music added a unique twist to the night, creating bonds forged in laughter and friendship.

Guide Zev reflected on the experience with great joy, calling it “probably the most fun I’ve had on a Pig Hunt.” It’s clear that not only were the pigs scared, but so too was the notion that a Hunting Trip couldn’t combine excitement, camaraderie, and a little musical flair.

Rare Georgia Night Sky

A Night of Hog Hunting Adventures with Hog SWAT

Last night, Guide Capt. Clayton led another exciting Thermal Hog Hunting expedition for Hog SWAT in the beautiful landscapes of South Georgia. The weather was perfect, with a stunning purple-pink sky that created the ideal backdrop for the evening's Hunt.

As the team set out, everyone was eager to put their Thermal Imaging Gear to the test. It didn’t take long before they spotted their first target—a Lone Hog moving cautiously through the brush. With a well-placed shot, they successfully took it down, kicking off the hunt on a high note.

Feeling energized, they continued exploring the area and soon spotted a group of five Wild Hogs in the distance. Clayton and his team quickly strategized for a closer approach, but the Pigs proved to be quicker and evaded capture, darting into the nearby trees. Although it was disappointing to miss out on that group, the thrill of the chase added to the excitement of the night.

Throughout the evening, Clayton enjoyed sharing knowledge and experiences with the team. Their camaraderie and shared passion for Hunting made the adventure even more enjoyable. Conversations flowed about techniques, tools, and other Hunting Tales, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere amidst the tranquil sounds of the South Georgia Wilderness.

While the night ended with just one Hog to their name, it was an experience full of fun, teamwork, and great stories. For anyone looking to dive into the world of Hog Hunting, Peanut Protector Guide Capt. Clayton strongly encourages booking a trip with Hog SWAT. With expert guidance and the stunning backdrop of South Georgia, it’s an adventure that is sure to deliver. Clayton looks forward to their next outing together—hopefully with a few more Successful Hunts in the mix!

2 Night Hog Hunt

Hog SWAT

At Hog SWAT, we believe in creating opportunities for Hunters to engage in one of the most thrilling and impactful forms of Hunting available — Thermal Hog Hunting. Recently, Guide Kevin led an exciting 2 Night Hog Hunt that resulted in several Wild Hogs being taken down, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share this experience with our hunting community.

The Importance of Thermal Hunting

Thermal Hunting has surged in popularity for a number of compelling reasons. Whether you’re a Seasoned Hunter or a novice looking for adrenaline-pumping action, Thermal Hog Hunting offers unique advantages. The use of Thermal Optics allows Hunters to see in complete darkness, making it ideal for tracking coyotes, armadillos, and, of course, Wild Hogs at any hour of the night.

In South Georgia, the burgeoning Wild Hog Population poses a significant threat to agriculture and local ecosystems. Wild Hogs are relentless foragers; they root through soil, trampling crops, and consuming everything from corn to soybeans. This devastation can severely impact farmers' livelihoods, leading to lost harvests and, in some cases, financial ruin. As stewards of the land, responsible Hunting is essential in controlling their population and mitigating the damages these Feral Hogs inflict.

The Experience with Kevin

Over the course of their Two-Night Huntingadventure under the stars, our enthusiastic Hunters teamed up with Guide Kevin, whose extensive knowledge of the area and Skillful Hunting strategies ensured an unforgettable experience. With state-of-the-art Thermal Imaging equipment in hand, the team ventured into the heart of Wild Hog Territory, ready to face whatever the night had to offer.

On the first night, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation. The low hum of night creatures set the backdrop as they navigated through the dark, the thermal scopes illuminating the dark. The thrill of spotting Wild Hogs through the scope provided an exhilarating experience that engaged all their senses.

Thanks to Kevin's strategic guidance and the advantages offered by Thermal Wild Hog Hunting, the group was able to take down several Wild Pigs over the two nights. Each success was not only a testament to their Hunting Skills but also a significant contribution to protecting local agriculture.

Conservation and Community Efforts

Hog hunting isn’t just a thrill; it's an integral part of Wildlife Management in South Georgia. The efforts to keep the Wild Hog Population in check ultimately benefit the broader community by Preserving Crops and Preventing Soil Erosion caused by their foraging behavior. Through Responsible Hunting practices, we can collectively play a role in maintaining a Healthy Ecosystem.

We hope that all the participants in this latest Hunt enjoyed their experience and came away with not just the thrill of the chase, but also a deeper understanding of the vital role Hog Hunting plays in conservation and agriculture.

Looking Ahead

As the sun rises on another successful Hog Hunt, we are excited to encourage our hunters to come back for more adventures. Whether you’re aiming to improve your skills, bond with friends, or simply enjoy the rush of the hunt, Hog SWAT has something for everyone.

Thank you to all who joined us over the 2-Night Hunt with guide Kevin. We can’t wait to welcome you back for more unforgettable experiences in The Great Outdoors. Stay tuned because there's always a new adventure just around the corner!

Fun Hog Hunts

The Hunting Guide, known as Guide Hank, had a fantastic time with this Hunting Party. Throughout the night, the group was engaged in playful banter and joking around, creating a lively atmosphere. Despite initially not spotting any Hogs, the group eventually located some Pigs and executed a flawless Stalk, getting within about 70 yards under the illuminated night sky.

The Hunters skillfully took down their targets, with the Wild Pigs displaying a unique dance before succumbing to the shots. By the end of the night, two pigs had been successfully harvested. While waiting for another pig to emerge on a different property, unexpected gunshots startled the group, causing the remaining pig to retreat quickly into the cover of the woods.

Although they didn't encounter any more Wild Hogs that night, the overall outcome was deemed a great success. A word of caution was shared by Guide Hank, mentioning that falling asleep in the Hunting Van could result in getting a surprise sharpie doodle on one's face, a lighthearted reminder of the camaraderie and fun shared during the Hog Hunt.

The first field held a couple of nice-sized Boars. The Stalk was muddy and wet, but fortunately, the rain had given way. They closed to about 60 yards when we set up and fired a volley. Nailed ‘em! That was the easy part. Afterward, they dragged our pigs about 400 yards through the mud until they could finally hitch them to the Hog Van and get them to the Hog dump. Then proceeded onto a few more fields and didn’t find much luck. Eventually, at a large peanut field, they found 6 Smaller Pigs; however, the wind switched up on them and they got spooked. They headed down the road a bit and immediately saw about 20 Wild Pigs in a Large Sounder. As they got close, it became apparent that there were more like 50+ Hogs in a Mega Sounder! These Pigs had no idea what was coming, and we fed them lead. After the dust settled, our Hunters got exactly what they wanted: 8 Suckling Pigs for a total of 10 downed throughout the night!

These guys took down 4 Pigs and a Coyote. These 4 guys can crack jokes all night and still Slay Wild Hogs. They didn’t see any Wild Pigs on the 2nd field we checked, but had the opportunity to shoot a coyote, and they nailed him. Found a Sounder on the second field 4th field they checked. They set up and was able to take down 2 Wild Hogs. After that they dropped in on a nearby field, and snuck right up on a nice sized Solo Boar and ended him with the first shot. After they dragged the Wild Boar off the field they circled back and checked the same field they took down the first 2, and there were more pigs in the same spot! They pulled in once more to shoot a ton of Hogs but were only able to secure one more. I’m sure others died shortly after in the tree line. They have more slaughtering to do tomorrow night!

After checking several fields, they came across a Sounder of 13 Wild Hogsgs. With the wind swirling and highly unpredictable, they rolled the dice and began their Stalk. The Pigs were a little preoccupied with rooting peanuts to notice them Stalking to about 80 yards. They dropped a nice 100lb Hog and a 40lb piglet, which yielded them a nice pile of Wild Hog Meat. They then went out to several more fields before finding 4 Juvenile Pigs. The Hogs were in a low brush, which made the shooting difficult, but they let them have it. After the dust settled, they scored an 80lb Sow. They kept looking for Wild Pigs but ran out of time. Let’s see what tomorrow bears for these Hunters and their Hunt For Hogs. Maybe they will have better luck and find a bigger Group of Pigs or a Trophy-Sized Boar. We will have to wait and see what fate has in store for them on the next Hunting Excursion.
