Hunt Recap:

Persistence Pays Off

Hunting Hogs

Some nights, the Pigs make you work. Guide Hank led a Hog Hunt that started slow—almost feeling like a burn. The team covered ground, checked field after field, and refused to call it quits.

Then, near the end of the night, persistence paid off. One of the last fields they checked had Wild Pigs. The Hunters geared up and moved in, ready to stalk the group. But as they closed the distance, a Lone Boar broke off and unknowingly walked straight toward them. With no way to maneuver around him and still get to the Sounder, things had to be done. Success.

One Hog napping for the night, but in the world of Thermal Hog Hunting, any successful stalk is a win. Some nights, the pigs pile up. Other nights, it’s about adapting, making the most of the opportunity, and proving that giving up is never an option.

1 Night Hog Hunt

Last night's 1 Night Hog Hunt led by Guide Capt. Ben turned out to be a thrilling success! Venturing under the cover of darkness, our skilled Guide and his group encountered a pack of hefty boars. With precision and teamwork, they managed to harvest three big boars from the same group. The bounty was generous, providing a substantial amount of meat and marking the night as a triumphant outing. The excitement was palpable as each member of the party contributed to the successful hunt. It's experiences like these that make hunting with Guide Capt. Ben unforgettable.

Guide Hank led a 1-Night Thermal Hog Hunt with fantastic results. As the night progressed, around 3:30 am, they spotted their first Pig of the night. The Hog was found roaming near the field entrance, providing the perfect opportunity for the Hunters to make their move. With precision and skill, they approached the Wild Hog and fired off two shots, successfully taking down the Wild Pig. It was a great success for the team led by Guide Hank, highlighting their expertise in the art of Hog Hunting.

The first field held a couple of nice-sized Boars. The Stalk was muddy and wet, but fortunately, the rain had given way. They closed to about 60 yards when we set up and fired a volley. Nailed ‘em! That was the easy part. Afterward, they dragged our pigs about 400 yards through the mud until they could finally hitch them to the Hog Van and get them to the Hog dump. Then proceeded onto a few more fields and didn’t find much luck. Eventually, at a large peanut field, they found 6 Smaller Pigs; however, the wind switched up on them and they got spooked. They headed down the road a bit and immediately saw about 20 Wild Pigs in a Large Sounder. As they got close, it became apparent that there were more like 50+ Hogs in a Mega Sounder! These Pigs had no idea what was coming, and we fed them lead. After the dust settled, our Hunters got exactly what they wanted: 8 Suckling Pigs for a total of 10 downed throughout the night!

Experience the thrill of wild hog hunting with our expert Guide, Capt Ben, at Hog SWAT. Last night's Hunt was nothing short of incredible as these guys proved to be truly awesome. They encountered a Pig that seemed to think it was a cow, but they couldn't let that slide. Swiftly, they took it down. Though they experienced a minor firearm malfunction, we were undeterred and back in the fields, Stalking another Wild Pig. However, this clever Swine managed to elude us! Stalking Corn can be quite challenging. Nonetheless, we had a fantastic time, and we're eagerly looking forward to welcoming these guys back for another Unforgettable Hunting Adventure. These gentlemen showed their savage side, determined to eliminate the sorghum-stealing Pigs. Despite the wind working against us throughout the night, they managed to accomplish their mission. Tim's final Hog Hunt with Hog SWAT ended on a successful note. The first field they went to had bad wind conditions, so they decided to wait in the warm van and let the Pigs move into a more favorable position. However, their plans were foiled when a dog chased the Wild Pigs away from the field. Frustrated with the situation, they moved on to another field where a Sounder (a group of Hogs) was causing damage to a dairy pasture. With well-placed shots, they were able to take down two Wild Hogs instantly, leading to some good times and a Successful Hunt. Book a Wild Hog Hunt today!

We had another amazing Thermal Hog Hunt last night at Hog SWAT! Guide Luke (Hank) took Keegan the Gangster Hog Slayer and he brought his custom .308. Keegan flipped the first Hog on the run (solo) and right after setting it up for pictures, 2 more Wild Pigs had a death wish and emerged from the trees. Keegan lined them up and nailed both of them with one shot. Crazy!! The Wild Hog in the back started to limp away and Keegan finished it off by blowing its brains out. That was a zombie pig (brown and black) 100%. It did not want to die. Even after butchering it the Pig was still twitching. Overall Great Hog Hunt with Keegan. It was a great night for Hog SWAT! Rob and Jamie, a skilled Hunting Couple, successfully bagged two Wild Boars tonight. That’s what we call South Georgia’s finest Boar Hunting. The first one, a Black-colored Boar, was dispatched by Rob's expert marksmanship. He delivered a lethal blow, which he calls the "Texas Heart Shot," by shooting the animal up the anus and hitting its heart. The second boar was equally challenging as it walked within 50 yards of them in a semi-circular motion without detecting their presence. The couple took down the second boar towards the end of the night, adding two more impressive trophies to their collection. They plan to extract the skulls from these prized specimens. Book a Wild Hog Hunt with us today, whether you come for the skull, meat, or just fun. We have it all.

It looks like Nick, Logan, and Christian had a successful Wild Hog Hunting Trip to Hog SWAT! On the first night, Guide Capt. Ben put them on a big group of Pigs and they were able to capture 3. On the second night, their determination paid off and they managed to bring down a total of 8 Wild Pigs during their 2 Night Hog Hunting sessions. With a total of 11 Hogs, Nick started to wonder if he had enough space in his freezer to store all the meat. This family also purchased the Hog Hunting Video Package, and they were amazing shots! Father and Son vs Father and Son. Humans win. Ken and Tad drove all the way from Wisconsin for one thing: to kill Pigs. Mission accomplished! They stalked for hundreds of yards meandering through trenches and peanut hay on a couple of Boars. When they arrived at a good vantage the Hogs took cover in a ditch. We laid in wait for 20 minutes waiting for a good shot when off to our north a sounder of 20+ Wild Pigs showed itself. Minutes later the bullets were flying and so were chunks of Wild Hogs. What a blast! Book a Thermal Hog Hunt today! Guide Capt Ben is the best!

These guys took down eleventeen Hogs last night - not 12, not 10, but eleventeen. After a slow first night of Thermal Hog Hunting with only 2 down, we made up for it with a more productive latest hunt, taking down 5 on our first encounter, followed by a Coyote and another 6 Wild Hogs by the end. Needless to say, we were ecstatic with our haul. I would have to say these guys are a crazy good shot. Lets see if anyone can beat thier record this year!

Our team also welcomed Rob and Anthony, who booked with us for Anthony's first ever Hog Hunt. It was a roaring success and we're grateful that he chose to make Hog SWAT his First Hunting Experience.

It was an exceptional evening for our guests on their Hog Hunt! We feel privileged that they chose us at Hog S.W.A.T. for their first-ever Guided Wild Hog Hunting experience. Despite an initial unsuccessful attempt to stalk a single Boar, they brilliantly managed to take down two out of five Hogs. It was a remarkable feat, especially on the first freeze of the season in South Georgia.
