At Hog SWAT, we specialize in offering thrilling Thermal-Guided Hog Hunts that create memories to last a lifetime. Over the weekend, one of our skilled guides led a 1-Night Hog Hunt that turned out to be an exciting and successful adventure for all involved.

The Hunt Begins:

A Stealthy Approach

The Hog Hunt kicked off with a careful and stealthy stalk of a Single Hog, but unfortunately, it managed to slip away before they could get into position. While it was a bit of a setback, it didn’t deter the team for long.

A Game-Changing Discovery

Not long after, the guide spotted a Sounder—a group of wild hogs—and the Wild Hog Hunt was back on track. With the help of Thermal , they were able to get into position and ensure that everyone got their chance to experience the thrill of the Thermal Hunt.

By the end of the night, the Wild Hog Hunt was a major success, with 3 Hogs successfully harvested. The team walked away with a sense of satisfaction and excitement, having made the most of their time in the field.

Two Nights in the Field:

A Hog Hunt with Zev

Hunting Wild Hogs at night is about patience, awareness, and learning how to move through the dark without giving yourself away. Guide Zev recently took a group of 3 Hunters out for a 2 Night Thermal Hog Hunt, and while the first night tested their persistence, the second night proved to be a lesson in both skill and success.

Night 1:

Tough Luck and Coyotes

The first night out, the Hogs were nowhere to be found. That’s the reality of Hog Hunting—some nights they’re out in force, and other nights they vanish like ghosts. To break up the slow night, we tried to set up on two separate Coyotes. But let’s just say… things didn’t go as planned. Between movement, positioning, and the learning curve of Night Hunting, things happen not how we planned.

Night 2:

Pigs Down and Lessons Learned

Pig Hunts In Georgia

With the frustration of night one behind them, the guys came back determined. It paid off early when we saw a Lone Pig, and success. But the real action came later in the night when we spotted a Sounder. This time, we moved better, stalked quieter, and moved without getting caught by Wild Hogs. When the moment came, they connected—one Pig Down from the group.

We did lots of walking. Moving through open fields during night isn’t the same as walking through the fields during the day. Every step has to be intentional, every movement controlled. By night two, they had it figured out.

In the end, two Wild Pigs took a nap, and these Hog Hunters walked away with more than just harvest—they left with a deeper understanding of the Thermal Hunt. And next time, those Coyotes might not be so lucky.

From Coyotes to Hogs:

A Three-Night Thermal Hunt with Guide Zev

Not every Hog Hunt goes as planned, but that’s what makes it exciting. Guide Zev recently led a 2 Night Hog Hunt for a group of three Hunters, and it turned into an adventure they won’t forget.

Night One:

When the Hogs Don’t Show, the Coyotes Will

Coyote Hunting

The first night, the hunters covered ground, scanning field after field, but the Hogs weren’t moving. That’s when the hunt took an unexpected turn - a Coyote stepped into range.

Thermal Hog Hunt? Not quite. Predator Hunt? Absolutely.

If you’ve never Hunted Coyotes, you’re missing out. These fast, Elusive Predators make for an exciting challenge, and the Hog Hunters made the most of the opportunity. First success of the Hunting Trip.

Night Two:

Back on Track

Hog Hunting

With a Coyote but no Wild Hogs yet, night two was all about redemption. Guide Zev put in the work, adjusting tactics and covering new ground. Then, finally - Pigs on the move.

The Coyote Hunters wasted no time, and success a Wild Hog. Just like that, the hunt was back on track.

The Challenge of Thermal Hog Hunting

Hog Hunting with Thermal is one of the most exciting and challenging hunts you’ll find. Wild Hogs are smart, tough, and unpredictable. Some nights, they keep you guessing. Other nights, you’re right on top of them. That’s what makes it Thermal Hunting.

At Hog SWAT, we know the game. Whether it turns into a Coyote Hunt or we’re chasing down pigs, every Wild Hog Hunt is an adrenaline-packed adventure. Book your Guided Hog Hunt today and see for yourself!

Baby Hogs

Hog Hunting in South Georgia is never predictable, and for this group of three Hunters, the night was a test of persistence. With Guide Zev leading the way, they covered plenty of ground in search of Wild Hogs, and by the end of the night, their efforts paid off.

A Tough Start

The Hog Hunt kicked off early with a Single Hog spotted in the distance. The Hog Hunters had success with a Tough Boar. Zev moved the group in closer, but the Hog, now spooked, disappeared into the darkness.

Miles on Foot, Pigs on the Move

Determined to find more targets, the group pushed on, covering a lot of ground in pursuit of another Sounder. They finally closed in, only to find the Wild Pigs had already moved out of sight by the time they got into position. It was a frustrating setback, but they weren’t giving up yet.

Success at Last

At 2 a.m., the persistence finally paid off. A new Sounder of Hogs was spotted, and this time, the Hunters wasted no time. Moving in quickly, and 2 Pigs, ending the night with a hard-earned victory.

These guys took down 4 Pigs and a Coyote. These 4 guys can crack jokes all night and still Slay Wild Hogs. They didn’t see any Wild Pigs on the 2nd field we checked, but had the opportunity to shoot a coyote, and they nailed him. Found a Sounder on the second field 4th field they checked. They set up and was able to take down 2 Wild Hogs. After that they dropped in on a nearby field, and snuck right up on a nice sized Solo Boar and ended him with the first shot. After they dragged the Wild Boar off the field they circled back and checked the same field they took down the first 2, and there were more pigs in the same spot! They pulled in once more to shoot a ton of Hogs but were only able to secure one more. I’m sure others died shortly after in the tree line. They have more slaughtering to do tomorrow night!

Rare Black Coyote!!

Guide Ben took this group to patroll some fields in Plains Ga, covering a total of 7 different fields before stumbling upon their first sighting - a Sounder consisting of approximately 11 Pigs. Eagerly, they unleashed a series of volleys, only to find that none of the shots seemed to have made an impact. However, upon scouring the low-lying areas, they made a surprising discovery - 4 Wild Hogs had indeed been successfully taken down. Moving on to the next field, the Hunters were disappointed not to find any Pigs, but the presence of Several Coyotestes caught their attention. Swiftly, they set up their position and skillfully lured the Coyotes closer using Guide Capt Ben expertly executed squeaks. The crack of a single shot echoed, successfully eliminating one of the Black Song Dogs. Undeterred by the lack of Hogs in the previous field, they ventured to another field where a separate group had previously taken shots. To their delight, they encountered another 13 Hogs. However, one wise Sow among them seemed to sense that something was amiss, despite favorable wind conditions and a safe distance. Unfazed, the sow began to approach, prompting the hunters to take shots at the Moving Targets. Unfortunately, due to a combination of adrenaline and a malfunctioning weapon, they were unable to bring any of the pigs down. Nonetheless, the thrill of shooting at the moving targets provided them with an exhilarating experience and an enjoyable time. Taking down a Rare Black Coyote is a Once In A Life Time Hunting Expiernce. Congrats to these guys on a Trophy Coyote!

Hog Snipers | 200 Yard Shot

James and Gabriel are highly skilled and certified Hog Snipers, and their expertise was on full display during their Hog Hunt. Taking advantage of the bright moon behind them, they managed to sneak up on a Wild Pig and successfully shot it from a remarkable distance of over 200 yards. Their precise aim resulted in an immediate kill, dropping the Pig right in its tracks.

Unfortunately, they faced some challenges in locating more Hogs afterward. They did, however, have the opportunity to take shots at a fast-moving Coyote, though it was difficult to confirm a kill due to its speed. Shortly after, they encountered another Hog that managed to escape into the brush before James and Gabriel could take it down. However, there is no doubt that if the Wild Hog had stayed still, they would have shot it with precision.

In the end, they celebrated the one remarkable Long-Range Kill achieved by James and Gabriel. Guide Luke expressed his enthusiasm for Hunting with them, describing it as an awesome night, and hopes to have the opportunity to guide their Hunt again in the future. They also purchased their Hog Hunting Video, we can’t wait to see that incredable shot.

If you possess the skills to make a 200-Yard Shot or are looking to improve your Hunting abilities, we invite you to book a Hog Hunt with Hog SWATtoday. Join us for an incredible Hunting Experience that will put your marksmanship to the test. (we normally take shots 50-100 yards away).

These guys took down eleventeen Hogs last night - not 12, not 10, but eleventeen. After a slow first night of Thermal Hog Hunting with only 2 down, we made up for it with a more productive latest hunt, taking down 5 on our first encounter, followed by a Coyote and another 6 Wild Hogs by the end. Needless to say, we were ecstatic with our haul. I would have to say these guys are a crazy good shot. Lets see if anyone can beat thier record this year!

Our team also welcomed Rob and Anthony, who booked with us for Anthony's first ever Hog Hunt. It was a roaring success and we're grateful that he chose to make Hog SWAT his First Hunting Experience.

Coyote Night Hunts?

What was a Hog Hunt turned into a Coyote Hunt In South Georgia. Despite the challenging full moon conditions, we managed to get one go-round on a Wild Hog last night. Unfortunately, the Hog made it to the woods and got away. But, thanks to our experienced guide Capt. Max, we were still able to claim a successful kill by calling in a pair of Coyotes and taking one down. We celebrate any measure of success in our Hog Hunts, and always strive to provide a memorable and fulfilling Hunting Experience. Ready for your own Wild Hog Hunting trip? Book with Hog SWAT today!
