Hog Hunting in South Georgia is incredibly important due to the destruction these animals cause. Just one Hog can cause significant Damage to Crops and land in a short amount of time. In fact, during our Hunt, we captured a photo of the damage that a single hog caused in just 10 minutes, which we have included on our website to showcase the impact.

On the first night of the Hunting Trip, despite taking a shot at a pig from 70 yards away positioned 10 feet from the treeline, unfortunately, it managed to escape off the field. The night was slow, and there were no other shot opportunities.

The second night was not much better, with limited sightings and missed shots. Despite the challenges, they remained focused on the mission to Control The Hog Population In South Georgia. With their destructive nature, it is crucial to continue Hunting these animals to protect the environment and agriculture in the region.

The evening started off with a Guide Hank’s personal Record-Breaking Hunt, as a total of 13 Wild Hogs were taken down much to the delight of the two Hunters. The night began with a fruitful hunt on the first field, where 4 Wild Pigs were dropped with multiple shots. After a brief lull on the next field, the group unexpectedly encountered a Sounder of Pigs while on the lookout for a Coyote. Opting to target the Pigs instead, they successfully shot 2 more.

As the Hunters celebrated their kills and took photos, Guide Hank heard a strange noise in the distance, prompting him to turn off the lights. This led to a surprising opportunity as Piglets from the earlier deceased mother returned to the field, allowing for a quick and efficient takedown of 8 more piglets, tying his personal record of 12. To everyone's amazement, a 13th piglet was spotted on Thermal Imaging, hidden in a hole and barely visible. With this unexpected addition, the night concluded on a high note of success and accomplishment.

Unfortunately, Night 2 did not bring the same level of excitement as no sightings were made, leading the group to head back around 4:30am. Despite the quiet evening, the Hunters were grateful for the action-packed experience of the previous night, showcasing their skill and determination in the Hunt. Guide Hank led a memorable and eventful Hog Hunt, with both highs and lows but ultimately leaving a lasting impression on all involved.

Determined to take it down, he and the group successfully closed the distance and comfortably shot the Wild Boar from around 90 yards, dropping it with the first shot. Despite only seeing one Hog that night, the team remained optimistic for the next night's Hunt.

On the second night, Guide Hank and Guide Capt. Ben split up for the Hog Hunt. They were able to coordinate a Group Stalk with all seven shooters, positioning themselves carefully as they approached the Wild Pigs hidden behind brush. With patience, they waited for more Pigs to reveal themselves before firing at the group and taking down five of them. 2 Night Hog Hunting

Guide Hank led a group of Hunters on a 2 Night Hog Hunt in South Georgia at Hog SWAT.

Night 1 started off with a touch of rain, but it didn't deter the group. As they pulled into the first field, it took a moment to spot the Wild Pigs due to the large size of the area. The rain added an element of challenge as they worked towards the Wild Hogs, using a smaller tree and brush for cover. Waiting patiently along the brush, they couldn't risk coming around the corner and Winding the Pigs. When the Hogs started moving towards them, they quickly got set up and took their shots from across the brush, successfully landing 5 Pigs. Despite searching for more, no other Hogs were found that night. A great success overall.

Night 2 brought more excitement as they geared up to walk over to a Pig, but the Wild Pig decided to come to them instead. Acting quickly, they set up on the fly and had all five hunters ready to shoot. The Swine dropped after a few shots. Later on, in another field, they spotted 2 Coyotes with nothing else in sight, so they decided to take a shot at one of them as well. It was a fun night for everyone involved, with great success once again.

After scanning nearby fields without much luck, they made their way back towards Americus and spotted a Lone Pig in a large, freshly tilled and fertilized field. Upon closer observation, it was discovered that there were actually about 25 Wild Hogs. The group took their time Stalking up as close as possible before the guide gave the signal to set up. As the Wild Hogs began to walk towards them, they let loose at about 35 yards. The Downed Hogs yielded some great meat and they are looking forward to their return Hunt.
