Hog Hunting

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of your First Hunt, and this Father and Son Hunting Duo got to experience it firsthand. After scouting a couple of fields, we finally located a Wild Hog and quickly moved into position. The Hog made a short run into the field. This was no ordinary Pig—this was a beast of a Wild Boar, and an incredible first hunt to mark the beginning of what’s sure to be a lifelong passion for hunting. The Father-Son Hunting Team left the night with an experience they will never forget.

Night 2:

Back for More

The second night brought another chance at success, and these Hunters did not disappoint. Returning to the same field as the night before, almost in the exact same location, they found another Piggy. Once again, patience and precision paid off. After searching for more pigs for a while, they decided to wrap up the night, satisfied with their hard-earned victories.

By the end of the Hunting Trip In Georgia, these Hog Hunters not only took home some great meat but also memories that will last a lifetime. It was another great success for Hog SWAT, proving once again why we are South Georgia’s Premier Thermal Hog Hunting Outfitter.

Hunt Recap:

Persistence Pays Off

Hunting Hogs

Photo: Wild Hog Hunts @HogSWAT

Some nights, the Pigs make you work. Guide Hank led a Hog Hunt that started slow—almost feeling like a burn. The team covered ground, checked field after field, and refused to call it quits.

Then, near the end of the night, persistence paid off. One of the last fields they checked had Wild Pigs. The Hunters geared up and moved in, ready to stalk the group. But as they closed the distance, a Lone Boar broke off and unknowingly walked straight toward them. With no way to maneuver around him and still get to the Sounder, things had to be done. Success.

One Hog napping for the night, but in the world of Thermal Hog Hunting, any successful stalk is a win. Some nights, the pigs pile up. Other nights, it’s about adapting, making the most of the opportunity, and proving that giving up is never an option.

The night started slow, with fewer Hogs Moving than usual, but that didn’t put a damper on the Hunting Experience. With Thermal Equipment Scanning the Fields, we kept at it, sharing stories and plenty of laughs along the way. The wait paid off when a Big Boar finally presented itself. There was success.

A Night of Thrills and Unexpected Encounters

Photo: You Can Run But You’re Gonna Get Got @HogSWAT

Last night was nothing short of exhilarating as Guide Hank took a Solo Hunter into the South Georgia Fields for an unforgettable night of Hog Hunting In Georgia. With the moon shining bright and adrenaline running high, the duo set out for a Hunting Adventure that they wouldn't soon forget.

The evening kicked off with a strategic stalk along the treeline, each step a careful dance of patience and focus. It wasn’t long before they spotted their target: a robust Wild Boar. With a steady hand and keen eye, the Hog Hunter took the first moment, but the Boar—fueled by instinct and perhaps a touch of stubbornness—charged straight toward them.

At a heart-pounding distance of about 40 yards, the tension was palpable. Hank quickly guided the Boar Hunter, and with a second moment, the Wild Boar was successfully stopped, peacefully putting him up. It was a great success for the night, showcasing both skill and collaboration in the field.

But the adventures didn’t end there! As they made their way back, the night took another unexpected turn. They stumbled upon a couple of Runaway Cows that had somehow strayed from their herd. While the Cows were not part of the night’s Hunting Plans, they added a delightful twist to the evening.

Hog Hunting Adventure Recap

After an exhilarating couple of nights in the field, we’re excited to share Hank's latest Wild Hog Hunting experience with our loyal Hog SWAT community. Here’s a look at what went down during his Night Hunts!

Night 1: The Stalk Begins

Photo: Georgia Night Sky @HogSWAT

The first night proved to be an interesting one, with no pig pictures to showcase. The team encountered their fair share of challenges, facing one failed go-round and an unsuccessful stalk. While attempting to approach a Sounder of Pigs, the hunters brought along Night Vision Binoculars, but things took a humorous turn. He accidentally lit himself up like a Christmas tree, catching the attention of every Hog in the vicinity.

Despite having favorable wind conditions, Hank observed all the Wild Pigs making a hasty retreat from the field. Perplexed by their sudden movement, he turned around only to discover the source of the disturbance—a literal “human disco ball” shining brightly in the darkness. But the team’s spirits remained high, as Hank confidently reassured everyone that they would have another chance to track down the Elusive Hogs tomorrow night.

Night 2: Perseverance Pays Off

Photo: Wild Boar Hunting @HogSWAT

Their persistence paid off when they finally zeroed in on a single Wild Boar. After careful planning and execution, they were able to secure the sweet victory they had been hoping for, making all the earlier setbacks worthwhile.

Conclusion

Hog SWAT's Night Out with Guide Max

Photo: Big Boy @HogSWAT

This last night, Hog SWAT had the pleasure of hosting a 1 Night Hog Hunt guided by Capt. Max. This group traveled to the heart of South Georgia to experience the thrill of Thermal Hunting for Wild Hogs. Armed with anticipation and eagerly looking forward to a night under the stars, they set out for an adventure!

A Slow Night on the Hunt

While the excitement was palpable, they quickly learned that Mother Nature had other plans. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a super slow Hog Hunting night, leaving this group with a mix of patience and determination. The Pigs seemed to have taken the night off, as sightings were sparse, and the typical chaos of a lively Sounder was notably absent.

But as any Seasoned Hunter knows, it's not always about the catch; sometimes, it’s about the experience. And this group was nothing short of fantastic. With fathers, uncles, and sons sharing in the Hog Hunt, the camaraderie and laughter echoed through the evening. Even in the quiet moments, the bonds formed and stories shared created memories that will last far longer than any Hunt.

A Successful Drop

Despite the slow action, we are thrilled to share that our group managed to drop a stunning Wild Boar (check out the impressive photo in this post!). The excitement was electric as they guided their shot with laser focus, demonstrating just how dialed-in they were. This was a testament to their skill as Hog Hunters, despite the limited opportunities throughout the night.

Looking Ahead

While we would have loved to have seen a full Sounder of Hogs come through, there's always a next time! We sincerely hope this enthusiastic group returns when the Wild Pigs are moving. Imagine the thrill of a night filled with action, surrounded by family and friends, as the sounds of a bustling Sounder echoes across the fields. We would be more than excited to be a part of their next Hunting Trip, capturing the excitement and bringing home more memories (and perhaps more hogs)!

In Conclusion

At Hog SWAT, we understand that Hunting is more than just the hunt; it’s about time spent with family, building skills, and enjoying The Great Outdoors. While last night may have been slow, it was filled with laughter, learning, and an unbreakable spirit. Thank you to this group for a wonderful evening, and we eagerly await your return for more Hunting Adventures in the future!

Stay tuned for more Hunting Stories, tips, and updates from Hog SWAT. And remember: when the hogs are moving, you want to be right there in the action with us!

Until next time, happy hunting!

Corporate Hunts

A Night to Remember: Our Thermal Hog Hunt Adventure at Hog SWAT

Photo: Hog Hunting Van @HogSWAT

Last night, the team at Hog SWAT had the pleasure of hosting a thrilling Thermal Hog Hunt, a special event organized for a corporate group looking to show appreciation for their hardworking team. With ten enthusiastic Hunters split between our guides Clayton and Maximus, excitement was palpable as the sun dipped below the horizon and darkness enveloped the landscape.

Guide Clayton’s Journey

The thrill of the hunt began for Guide Clayton on a slightly challenging note. Unfortunately, his Thermal Mount decided to play hard to get, refusing to connect to the tablet. But instead of letting this setback dampen the spirit of the Hunt, Clayton embraced the challenge. He led the group through the night’s darkness on foot, eyes peeled for signs of Elusive Hogs.

Photo: Big Boy @HogSWAT

Almost immediately, fortune smiled upon them as they spotted a Solitary Pig right off the bat. With the night quiet, the group managed to take the Wild Hog down. Guide Clayton loves his job and the customers he meets. There is nothing better than to Thermal Hunt with customers that share the same passion.

But perseverance is key in Hunting Wild Hogs, and after a second encounter that yielded yet another elusive Solo Hog, the group faced a situation of missed opportunities. Despite the frustration, spirits remained high, and the laughter shared over the unexpected misses kept the atmosphere light.

As the night progressed, it felt as if they were destined for a memorable finish. Just when hope was beginning to wane, Guide Clayton spotted another Single Hog. This time, fortune favored them; after a steady aim, they managed to drop it, ending the night on a high note and with a sense of achievement.

Guide Maximus’s Success

On the other side of the property, Guide Max’s group had a good night of Hog Hunting as well. They kicked off the night with a promising single sighting that ramped up excitement. The Wild Hog was quick to go down, Max and his team had there first sucess of the night.

Photo: Hog Down @HogSWAT

As the night unfolded, they encountered a small group of 3 Hogs. Unfortunately, the swift movements of the animals led them into the safety of the woods, evading the Hog Hunters. Nonetheless, the encounters kept spirits high within the group, showcasing the thrill of the Hog Hunt and the camaraderie fostered throughout the evening.

Conclusion: A Successful Corporate Adventure

By the end of the night, both groups found themselves filled with stories to share and memories to cherish. While Thermal Hog Hunting can sometimes come with its challenges, it is precisely these moments that create bonds among teammates. We genuinely hope this trip provided a fun and unique experience for the corporate group, and it certainly left a lasting impression on us at Hog SWAT.

As we reflect on the night, we can’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to host such a spirited group. We look forward to welcoming them back for another Corporate Hunt, equipped with perhaps a few more tales and hopefully, even more Wild Pigs to be harvested! Until next time, keep your sights set and your spirits high!

As the sun set over the sprawling landscape, the excitement was palpable among the group. Max welcomed the enthusiastic hunters, ready to share the secrets of Thermal Hog Hunting. The night promised adventure as they geared up, eager to get out into the field.

Despite the onslaught of mosquitoes that seemed determined to sample each hunter, spirits remained high. After all, the goal was to Hunt Wild Hogs, and every great adventure comes with its challenges!

The First Encounter: A Quick Stalk

Photo: Best Hunting In Ga @HogSWAT

As they ventured out, the first stalk came sooner than expected. A Small Sounder of five Hogs presented itself, and the atmosphere turned electric. Among the group were two Hefty Sows that the Hunters soon targeted. Working well as a team, they successfully brought down both Sows, marking the first highlight of the night. Satisfaction filled the air, but the mosquitoes continued to buzz, a reminder that nature's elements were still at play.

Second Encounter: A Boar Down

Just when they thought the night couldn’t get any better, the group had a second encounter that would make their Hunt memorable. A Solitary Boar appeared, and with quick reflexes and great aim, the Hunters took their shot. The Wild Boar dropped in its tracks, showcasing the team’s skill and the effectiveness of Thermal Hunting technology. The thrill of the chase and the rush of a Successful Hunt is what Hog SWAT is all about — and this group of hunters certainly experienced that firsthand.

Graduation Hunt's

Guide Hank led a Memorable Hunt for Hog SWAT, marking a special occasion for a grandfather and grandson duo. The pair, who had been eagerly anticipating this moment, were on their first Hog Hunt together. Guide Hank's expert guidance ensured that this experience would be one to cherish.

After a patient wait, the group finally got on a group of Pigs around 3:30 am, marking a significant breakthrough in the Hunt. With precision and skill, they secured their first Wild Hog, making it a momentous occasion for both Grandpa and grandson. The successful kill was a testament to their determination and teamwork.

Guide Hank's post-hunt summary reflects his enthusiasm and satisfaction with the outcome: "It was a great success as usual!" This sentiment echoes the sense of accomplishment and joy shared by the grandfather and grandson duo.

As they walked away from the hunt with their prize, Grandpa and grandson couldn't help but feel proud of their accomplishment. This experience not only strengthened their bond but also created lifelong memories.

1 Night Boar Hunts

Guide Hank recently led a Wild Hog Hunt for Hog SWAT, where the group encountered some challenges but ultimately achieved success. Hank recalls spotting Pigs on the second field, only for them to quickly disappear into tall brush, making it difficult to track their movements. Undeterred, the group pressed on and ventured further into the field, but unfortunately, they did not come across any more Wild Pigs.

As the group was preparing to leave the field, the Hogs unexpectedly reappeared, giving them another chance to make a move. Hank and the Hunters swiftly approached the Wild Hog, taking their shot and successfully bringing down a good Boar. The group was thrilled with their kill, especially as they were able to take home a prized skull from the Hunt.

Although they only managed to get one Pig that night, the Hog Hunt was still considered a great success by Guide Hank and the rest of the group. The thrill of the chase and the satisfaction of a successful kill made the Boar Hunt an unforgettable experience for all involved. It was a night of perseverance and reward, showcasing the skills and determination of the Hog Hunters led by Guide Hank.

Guide Hank led a 2 Night Hog Hunt, where he and the group embarked on two eventful nights of Hunting at Hog SWAT.

On the first night, they managed to take down 3 Big Bo Big Boars, all shot in the same group. The Successful Hunt resulted in a substantial amount of meat for the group, and everyone celebrated the great success of the evening.

The second night began with the group spotting a Solo Boar on the second field they visited. Despite getting a shot off, the Wild Boar was elusive and slipped away into the tall grass. However, their luck turned around later in the night when they encountered a Massive Boar weighing over 250 lbs. The Hunters successfully took down the Trophy Boar, choosing to preserve its head for a euro mount.

Guide Hank was delighted with the outcome of both nights, as the group experienced Thrilling Hunts and secured valuable trophies. Reflecting on the successful 2-Night Hunting Adventure, Hank looked forward to leading more Exciting Hunts in the future at Hog Swat.

Guide Hank led a 2 Night Hog Hunt with Hog SWAT. On the first night, the team celebrated a successful Hog Hunt, taking down three Pigs with three Hunters. They encountered a challenging first field, thick with overgrown weeds where Wild Pigs concealed themselves. Nevertheless, the skilled group claimed their first kill in the subsequent field. Amidst their stealthy approach to a Small Group of Hogs, a dense fog provided the perfect cover, allowing them to take two Wild Hogs from under a hundred yards, the animals none the wiser.

The second night proved equally fruitful, with two Huge Boars falling to the Hunters' Marksmanship. The first Boar, boasting Tropy Tusks, was felled by a single bullet from each Hunter, dropping instantly. The second Wild Boar was out in a windy field, its senses dulled, enabling the Hunters to get within striking distance. They illuminated and dispatched the Boar with precision, marking another Successful Hunt.

In a recent Hunting Excursion led by Guide Capt Ben, a 2 Night Hog Hunt at Hog SWAT was successfully completed. On the first night, a Coyote was located in the first field and promptly eliminated. After much movement, a Group of 5 Pigs was discovered at 5 am, resulting in 3 being taken down.

During the second night of the Hunt, the group encountered their first Pig in the Swamps. Despite nearly spooking the animal, they managed to successfully bring it down from a distance of about 160 yards. The next Wild Hog was found in a dairy field, where it had been aggressively defending its territory against Deer. Through careful Stalking, the group was able to take down the 300lb+ Boar with a well-placed shot. The Successful Hunt concluded with the group celebrating and taking the Boar's head as a trophy. Overall, it was an exciting and rewarding experience for all involved.

Guide Capt Ben provided a detailed account of a 2-Night Hog Hunt he led for Hog SWAT.

Night 1 was a bit challenging as it took some time to locate the Hogs, but they eventually found a Sounder in a field of Winter Wheat. Despite having to shoot from a distance of almost 200 yards, they managed to take down the Largest Hog in the group, which turned out to be a Sow. They collected some quality fatty meat from the Wild Hog and enjoyed the experience.

On Night 2, the Hunt kicked off with excitement as they quickly found Hogs in the first field. Despite unfavorable wind conditions, they were able to navigate within about 100 yards of the Wild Pigs. With skill and finesse, they shot and successfully brought down a battle scarred Sow. Moving on to another field, they encountered a pair of Wild Boars causing havoc in fresh cut winter wheat. Quietly maneuvering along the tree line, they positioned themselves close to the Boars as they emerged from the trees into the field. With the wind in their favor, they took their shots and managed to drop a nice Wild Boar. The stalks were thrilling, the shots were precise, and overall, it was a night filled with great experiences and Successful Hunts.

Wild Boar Tusks

Guide Hank didn't see a single Pig until 4am. Due to the full moon, when he spotted a Lone Boar sitting in a field, he didn't want to chance it running away upon noticing them. Crouching down and Army Crawling within 60 yards of the Hog, the Hunters were able to drop it with 2 bullets. The Boar had some very nice Boar Tusks, making it another Successful Hunt for Guide Hank.
