Last night, Guide Capt Ben led a 1 Night Hog Hunt for the Hog SWAT team that was filled with unexpected twists and turns. As they set out into the rugged terrain, the team found themselves driving around in circles, trying to track down the elusive wild hogs. The frustration was mounting as they seemed to be going in circles and coming up empty-handed.

But just when it seemed like luck was not on their side, the Pig Gods must have taken pity on them. Suddenly, a Group of Pigs popped out from the bushes, catching the team by surprise. With adrenaline pumping, they quickly got into position and took their shots. Despite the initial struggles, the team managed to drop 4 out of the 10 Hogs they shot at, a decent success rate for the night.

Guide Capt Ben's expertise and determination had paid off once again, leading the team to a Successful Hunt despite the initial setbacks. It was a night filled with excitement, challenges, and ultimately, triumph. The Hog SWAT team had proven once again that with perseverance and a bit of luck, they could overcome any obstacle in their path.

1 Night Hog Hunt

Last night's 1 Night Hog Hunt led by Guide Capt. Ben turned out to be a thrilling success! Venturing under the cover of darkness, our skilled Guide and his group encountered a pack of hefty boars. With precision and teamwork, they managed to harvest three big boars from the same group. The bounty was generous, providing a substantial amount of meat and marking the night as a triumphant outing. The excitement was palpable as each member of the party contributed to the successful hunt. It's experiences like these that make hunting with Guide Capt. Ben unforgettable.

Guide Hank led a 1-Night Thermal Hog Hunt with fantastic results. As the night progressed, around 3:30 am, they spotted their first Pig of the night. The Hog was found roaming near the field entrance, providing the perfect opportunity for the Hunters to make their move. With precision and skill, they approached the Wild Hog and fired off two shots, successfully taking down the Wild Pig. It was a great success for the team led by Guide Hank, highlighting their expertise in the art of Hog Hunting.

Guide Hank led a 1 Night Hog Hunt for Hog SWAT and wrote about the experience. The night started with only spotting a few Deer on the first three fields checked. However, things picked up when they came across two Sounders In A Field. As they approached the first Sounder, the Pigs quickly retreated into the trees, making it difficult to get a clear shot. Moving on to the Second Sounder on the other side of the field, they were able to get within 120 yards of the Wild Pigs and successfully took down three, one of which was a Large Pig weighing over 200 pounds. The group managed to gather a good amount of meat and some impressive Boar Tusks from the Hunt. Overall, everyone enjoyed the night and had a successful Hunting Trip.

Damage Caused By Wild Hogs

Photo: Distruction Caused By A Wild Hog @HogSWAT

Hog Hunting in South Georgia is incredibly important due to the destruction these animals cause. Just one Hog can cause significant Damage to Crops and land in a short amount of time. In fact, during our Hunt, we captured a photo of the damage that a single hog caused in just 10 minutes, which we have included on our website to showcase the impact.

On the first night of the Hunting Trip, despite taking a shot at a pig from 70 yards away positioned 10 feet from the treeline, unfortunately, it managed to escape off the field. The night was slow, and there were no other shot opportunities.

The second night was not much better, with limited sightings and missed shots. Despite the challenges, they remained focused on the mission to Control The Hog Population In South Georgia. With their destructive nature, it is crucial to continue Hunting these animals to protect the environment and agriculture in the region.

Hank, an experienced guide at Hog SWAT, led a Wild Hog Hunt in which six Hogs were successfully taken down. The evening began with the group spotting their first Hog around 10pm, swiftly dispatching it. Later on, they stalked and successfully eliminated another single Pig.

The highlight of the night came when a group of around 10 Pigs emerged from the trees as Guide Hank began to scout the area. The Hunters quickly moved in on the group, managing to take out four of them before the rest of the Wild Pigs fled into the night.

Overall, it was a highly Successful Hunt, with a total of 6 Wild Hogs taken down. Hank's expertise and leadership played a crucial role in the success of the night's hunt.

Guide Capt. Ben, who guided these Hunters Erick, Will & Fuzzy on a 2 Night Hog Hunt.

Night 1 of the Hunt:

The Hunt started with excitement, as they spotted two Wild Hogs in a large Winter Wheat Field. Despite an attempt at a Stalk, erratic winds gave away their position, causing the Hogs to flee. The subsequent fields were quiet until a Lone Hog was sighted on the tree line. The group closed in for a stalk, only to discover a group of six Pigs, including Piglets, in the tall grass. They successfully took down the Largest Boar in the group. After exploring other fields with limited wildlife, they returned to find the same two Wild Pigs from earlier. Both were shot and tagged, securing a meat Sow.

Night 2 of the Hunt:

The second night took them out west to Preston, Ga, where no Hogs were found. After regrouping, they headed back to Plains, Ga and encountered a sizable Sounder of 15-20 Hogs. A shot was taken, and although one Pig almost made it to the trees, it was successfully taken down at the woodline. They continued to check several more fields and found another Sounder, but their Stalking attempt was unsuccessful as the Hogs detected their scent. Despite the challenges, the group had a memorable experience with the Hunters from Alabama. Great times were had on this successful Hog Hunting Adventure with Guide Capt. Ben.

Hog Snipers

2nd night started off slow. They found some Pigs but got screwed by the terrain and wind. That didn’t stop them because they kept looking until they snuck up on a group of Juvenile Pigs. They killed 4, and one of them was from Tyler with a ~300 Yard Snipe from a Hog on the run! It was already around 3am when they finished up. The last field they checked held a Sounder where the guys dropped 5 Wild Hogs. After Butchering and walking off the field I spotted a Solo Pig begging to be shot so we took a detour on the way to the Hunting Van and killed the last Wild Pig of the night topping the group off at a nice even 10 Pigs making it double digits!

Squeal Team 6

A storm was brewing. The Pigs were hiding from them all night until they caught a group of 6 Sows frantically feeding. The Hogs ran several hundred yards before stopping to get a quick bite. They maneuvered the Hog Hunting Van to where they had the best wind, they hailed Mary, and began to jog. They set up only to have the Wild Hogs run again! So they broke the gear down, pursued them to the tree line, and took their shots from about 140 yards away. This group nailed every pig but only one dropped in the field. Squeal Team 6 out!

The Real Pro Hog Hunters

Mark and Dwayne were 2 for 2 tonight, successfully Hunting 2 Pigs. They exhibited resourcefulness by using minimal resources while achieving maximum lethality. The first Pig required a single bullet from each Hunter, despite being located far away across a field making for a HogHog StalkStalk. As for the second Hog, it proved to be a challenge as it continuously moved, making it difficult to set up for a shot. However, Mark and Dwayne finally were able to set up and managed to take a shot within a few seconds of opportunity. Once again, only one shot from each hunter was needed to take down the Wild Hog. In total, they used four bullets to Hunt two Hogs. Clearly, these Hunters have Exceptional Marksmanship Skills. Guide Hank would be thrilled to have the opportunity to Hunt with them again someday. We hope they come back to Hog SWAT because we want to see them shoot at a Sounder of Wild Hogs! That would be something to see with these guys!!!
