Some nights, the Pigs make you work. Guide Hank led a Hog Hunt that started slow—almost feeling like a burn. The team covered ground, checked field after field, and refused to call it quits.

Then, near the end of the night, persistence paid off. One of the last fields they checked had Wild Pigs. The Hunters geared up and moved in, ready to stalk the group. But as they closed the distance, a Lone Boar broke off and unknowingly walked straight toward them. With no way to maneuver around him and still get to the Sounder, things had to be done. Success.

One Hog napping for the night, but in the world of Thermal Hog Hunting, any successful stalk is a win. Some nights, the pigs pile up. Other nights, it’s about adapting, making the most of the opportunity, and proving that giving up is never an option.

At Hog SWAT, every Night Thermal Hunt is unpredictable. Some nights, the Hogs cooperate. Other nights, Mother Nature and the wild have different plans. Guide Hank recently led a group of four Hunters on a 1 Night Guided Hunt, and while the Wild Hogs played hard to get, the night still ended with a big success - including an unexpected Predator Encounter.

The Hunt Begins:

Close Calls and Tough Breaks

The first stalk of the night looked promising, but the wind wasn’t in there favor. A sharp-nosed hog caught there scent and was gone before anything could happen. On the second stalk, the team managed to connect with a Pig, but it made it into the woods before we could recover it for a picture - an unfortunate but common reality in Wild Hog Hunting.

Third Stalk:

An Unlikely Guest Appears

By the third setup of the night, the Hog Hunters were locked in and ready to go. They had just about closed the distance on a group of pigs when, out of nowhere, a Bobcat decided to crash the party - spooking the hogs and taking their place in the field.

With the Wild Pigs gone, the group quickly shifted gears. Everyone was on board with the new plan on the predator, the bobcat had its picture taken. This wasn’t just any bobcat - it was a perfect specimen, and the Bobcat Hunters decided it would make an awesome mount to remember the Bobcat Hunt.

Great Success in the End

While the night didn’t go exactly as planned, that’s what makes Thermal Hunting so exciting. Wild Hogs may have been the target, but the unexpected Trophy Bobcat of the night turned out to be a Beautiful Bobcat, making for an Unforgettable Hunting Experience.

This past weekend, Hog SWAT had the pleasure of hosting a Wild Hog Hunt guided by none other than our experienced guide, Kevin. A couple of adventurous hunters decided to step outside their comfort zone and try their luck at tracking down some Wild Piggies in the beautiful South Georgia Fields . The Hog Hunt proved to be a fantastic experience, with each night resulting in the successful take of one hog!

This past weekend was a fantastic showcase of what Hog SWAT has to offer. Guide Kevin led a 2 Night Hog Hunt starting Friday, giving a group of four hunters a thrilling experience they’ll never forget. On the first night, the team struck success in Pertoria Field, bringing down a Hog under the starry Georgia sky. The second night took them to a field known as "Sheriffs," where they closed out the weekend with another Wild Hog down, capping off a Memorable Hunt.

Hog SWAT's Nighttime Hunt: A Test of Persistence

Guide Hank led a Thrilling 1 Night Hog Hunt for Hog SWAT, but it wasn't without its challenges. Despite the obstacles, Guide Hank's expertise and determination ultimately paid off.

The Hunt began with a promising Sighting of Pigs in a field just off the main road, but just as they were getting into position, a side-by-side came barreling down the road, making a ruckus and sending the Wild Pigs Scattering. Undeterred, Guide Hank regrouped his team and pressed on.

Later in the night, a thick fog rolled in, making it difficult to spot any more Hogs. But Guide Hank's experience and knowledge of the terrain eventually led him to a new group of Wild Hogs. However, they were stuck behind a pivot, limiting their shooting options to just one shot.

With precision and skill, the Hunters took aim and fired true, bringing down one impressive hog. Despite the setbacks and challenges, Guide Hank's persistence and expertise ultimately secured a Successful Hunt. As he reflected on the night's events, Guide Hank concluded: "It was a great success!"

Guide Hank led a 2 Night Hog Hunt, where he and the group embarked on two eventful nights of Hunting at Hog SWAT.

On the first night, they managed to take down 3 Big Bo Big Boars, all shot in the same group. The Successful Hunt resulted in a substantial amount of meat for the group, and everyone celebrated the great success of the evening.

The second night began with the group spotting a Solo Boar on the second field they visited. Despite getting a shot off, the Wild Boar was elusive and slipped away into the tall grass. However, their luck turned around later in the night when they encountered a Massive Boar weighing over 250 lbs. The Hunters successfully took down the Trophy Boar, choosing to preserve its head for a euro mount.

Guide Hank was delighted with the outcome of both nights, as the group experienced Thrilling Hunts and secured valuable trophies. Reflecting on the successful 2-Night Hunting Adventure, Hank looked forward to leading more Exciting Hunts in the future at Hog Swat.

1 Night Hog Hunt

Last night's 1 Night Hog Hunt led by Guide Capt. Ben turned out to be a thrilling success! Venturing under the cover of darkness, our skilled Guide and his group encountered a pack of hefty boars. With precision and teamwork, they managed to harvest three big boars from the same group. The bounty was generous, providing a substantial amount of meat and marking the night as a triumphant outing. The excitement was palpable as each member of the party contributed to the successful hunt. It's experiences like these that make hunting with Guide Capt. Ben unforgettable.

2 Night Hog Hunting

Guide Hank led a group of Hunters on a 2 Night Hog Hunt in South Georgia at Hog SWAT.

Night 1 started off with a touch of rain, but it didn't deter the group. As they pulled into the first field, it took a moment to spot the Wild Pigs due to the large size of the area. The rain added an element of challenge as they worked towards the Wild Hogs, using a smaller tree and brush for cover. Waiting patiently along the brush, they couldn't risk coming around the corner and Winding the Pigs. When the Hogs started moving towards them, they quickly got set up and took their shots from across the brush, successfully landing 5 Pigs. Despite searching for more, no other Hogs were found that night. A great success overall.

Night 2 brought more excitement as they geared up to walk over to a Pig, but the Wild Pig decided to come to them instead. Acting quickly, they set up on the fly and had all five hunters ready to shoot. The Swine dropped after a few shots. Later on, in another field, they spotted 2 Coyotes with nothing else in sight, so they decided to take a shot at one of them as well. It was a fun night for everyone involved, with great success once again.

Hunting In The Dark

On the first night of Hog Hunting in March for Hog SWAT led by Guide Capt Ben, a group of guys embarked on a Wild Hog Hunt in South Georgia. Despite a slow start to the evening, the team remained optimistic throughout the Hunt.

Setting up on six Hogs, they were only able to hit two Wild Hogs. However, Guide Capt Ben and the group persevered, checking various fields until they were exhausted. What started as a dull evening turned out to be a memorable experience for the Hunters, who demonstrated determination and teamwork in the face of unexpected challenges. The first stalk of the night started off with some exercise for them. From getting out of the van to loading up the meat, they walked just under 3000 yards or 1.6 miles. It was worth it in the end because it made the Hunt so much more rewarding. Pigs were spotted and winded them, so they followed them over the hill to see if anything was on the tree line to no avail. With a busted Stalk, they made their way back to the Hunting Van only to see 6 Hogs on the opposite side of the field across a trench full of water. They walked even more and successfully Bagged 2 Wild Hogs. They searched a couple more fields and found nothing, then finally spotted 2 Wild Pigs walking around on another field and added 1 more to the total, making it 3 for the first night.

Great news! Two Wild Hogs has been taken down on the first night of their Two Night Hog Hunt. These Experienced Hunters had previously joined us in 2019, and we are thrilled that they returned for another fantastic Thermal Hunting adventure.

The action started picking up later in the night, at around 2 AM, when we spotted some Pigs. All four Hunters showcased their shooting skills, resulting in excellent shots.

The second night of their 2 night hog hunting Trip proved to be even more successful for the group. They managed to take down four Wild Pigs in a single field, making it an incredibly fruitful outing.

Their strategy involved shooting the first Hog on its own before quickly getting back into the van to continue checking the field. To their surprise, another Wild Hog emerged from the woods in the same spot. They swiftly set up their positions and shot the second Wild Pig, which reared up on its hind legs during the process. The sight of capturing this action on Thermal Imaging was an impressive and memorable moment for the group.

Not long after, they drove a little further into the field and spotted two more Wil Pigs roaming around. Waste no time, they promptly exited the vehicle and approached the Pigs. The father and two brothers exhibited their shooting skills, taking down the Wild Hogs swiftly and with Precise Shots.

Despite facing some initial challenges, nothing could deter this determined Father and Sons Hunting Trip from their Hog Hunting Adventure. After losing a few Hogs due to unpredictable wind conditions, they refused to give up and embarked on a new field.

Undeterred by the obstacles, they hiked a considerable distance and their perseverance paid off as they managed to bring down the only Pig of the night. This Wild Pig holds a unique story, as it is not only deceased but also missing both of its ears, a bizarre circumstance that remains a mystery.

Tim chose our 2 Night Hog Hunting Package and brought along his own firearm for the adventure. His first night proved to be a resounding success as he skillfully took down several impressive Wild Boars, with weights exceeding 250 pounds. However, one of the Boars became agitated after sustaining a shot to the mouth and made the bold decision to charge at Guide Ben and Tim. It was a great night for Hog SWAT! Rob and Jamie, a skilled Hunting Couple, successfully bagged two Wild Boars tonight. That’s what we call South Georgia’s finest Boar Hunting. The first one, a Black-colored Boar, was dispatched by Rob's expert marksmanship. He delivered a lethal blow, which he calls the "Texas Heart Shot," by shooting the animal up the anus and hitting its heart. The second boar was equally challenging as it walked within 50 yards of them in a semi-circular motion without detecting their presence. The couple took down the second boar towards the end of the night, adding two more impressive trophies to their collection. They plan to extract the skulls from these prized specimens. It looks like Nick, Logan, and Christian had a successful Wild Hog Hunting Trip to Hog SWAT! On the first night, Guide Capt. Ben put them on a big group of Pigs and they were able to capture 3. On the second night, their determination paid off and they managed to bring down a total of 8 Wild Pigs during their 2 Night Hog Hunting sessions. With a total of 11 Hogs, Nick started to wonder if he had enough space in his freezer to store all the meat. This family also purchased the Hog Hunting Video Package, and they were amazing shots! These guys had fun on last nights Wild Hog Hunt. I watched there Hog Hunting video footage, and they were pro’s! Ryan ended up buying his Hog Hunting Video.
